my granny is on Dialysis and whenever she goes to dialysis they do blood work. Which she has to pay for and with this blood work they do lab work and if anything comes back bad, she would be taken off until her labs read good. It is an on going struggle trying to get a kidney and without the support so few make it. It's great that there are places that donate and help these families in need.

As a nurse- i see the devastating effects of diabetes. Eat right, take care of your blood sugars to keep them balanced. High blood sugars can cause many other problems including blindness, neuropathy and kidney failure.

When the blood vessels in the kidneys are damaged, your kidneys cannot clean your blood properly. This can cause your body to retain more water and salt than it should and waste materials can build up in your blood instead of being removed by the kidneys and excreted in the urine.
