  1. A memorable moment for me was when we could finally communicate with my son effectively after months of speech therapy.

  2. My youngest sons first day of kindergarten was memorable. The kids all went out a minute ahead of me to wait for their buses. It was also my oldest sons first day of high school, and my daughters first day of jr high. Walking out to join them I was struck by the comparison between my boys because it seemed like only yesterday my oldest was the one starting kindergarten. A lump in my throat moment for sure.

  3. One of my fave things I remember from my daughter was when she was 3 yr old, she would come into my husbands and my bedroom before we woke up, climb on the bed then get between us and as gently as her little fingers could she would pinch our eye lashes and pull our eye lids open singing " It's morning, the sun is out, it's time to wake up!"
She would continue this till we would get up. I swear she would wait for daybreak to come in our room to do this! It was always so dang early!!!!! LOL We love her anyway and tease her about it now that she is 17 and doesn't want to get up early!

  18. The scariest moment as a parent was when my son, at 7 months, was lifelined from one hospital to our children's hospital and they weren't sure he was gonna make it. The worst was that I couldn't ride with him. It was the scariest moment as a parent. He is still special needs from a physical aspect but he continues to beat the odds!

  21. One of many, a favorite is taking my now 10 year old son to New York City (when my husband had a business trip there) when he was 3 1/2 . I had spent significant time in NYC and this time planned a totally kid centric trip. He really remembers this (maybe because I did a scrapbook!). We're going back this summer and I'm SO excited to do this trip with a 10 year old's perspective!

  42. One of those things that sticks with us to this day--my daughter is 12--is that when she was a toddler and would be looking for something, she would stand in the middle of the room with her arms flung out to the sides, saying, "Where? Where is it?" in just such a particular manner. Now when we misplace car keys or the remote, or something of that nature, we all do it.

  61. Here's a moment I wish I'd caught on camera...

When my daughter was about 5 we moved her bed into the living room because she really wanted to "be with" the Christmas tree. With my bedroom door open I could just see her bed, the tree and the entrance to the kitchen. On Christmas morning I woke up early and was just laying there trying to get back to sleep when I realized it was tiny feet that had woken me up. I turned over to look and my daughter was diving back into bed. I tried to be quiet and sure enough about a minute later she hopped back out of bed, went all around the tree on her knees and then jumped back into bed. She did that about 4 more times before I couldn't hide my laughter anymore (I mean I was already choking on my pillow!). Every year I tell her how cute and silly she used to be 🙂
