Sponsored by: Dove    Hosted by: Powered by Mom Blog and a fabulous group of bloggers

I know I used to be such a ham and would jump in front of the camera to get my picture taken with my friends and family. Every time I walked by a photo booth with my friends we always wanted to go in and have fun and take goofy pictures together. So what happened why do we get camera shy?!

Well it's time to love the camera again and to prove it here's my getting over it and showing my #cameracourage with my hubby 🙂

I always encourage my daughter to just be herself and tell her all the time she's beautiful inside (which is what counts) and outside as her inner beauty shines through. She's not the least bit camera shy and I intend to keep it that way.

Here's my daughter showing her #cameracourage 🙂

  1. I would tell any little girls and boys, including mine, that they are all beautiful and God made them special just the way they are.

  2. I would just let them know that everyones idea of beauty is different and that they don't need to change for anyone else. Be true to who you are!

  3. I encourage my girls to always be themselves. I try to teach them that it doesn't matter who is around that you can always act the same way.

  4. I tell my daughter to be herself, because if she tries to be someone or something else she will only be second best...being her best self she is always #1.

  5. I like to share positive self encouraging quotes on facebook for others to see and maybe change their thinking a bit to something more positive about their self image.

  6. I encourage my daughters to embrace the things they love and not to worry what others say. I have to say, they are both very confident little girls. My nine year old lives in track suits and a muppet hat and my six year old just got a pixie cut and rocks all pink and cowgirl boots most days hahaha. They are definitely individuals and they don't mind being in front of the camera at all.

  7. I remind my girlfriends who refuse to take photos with their children that one day the photos will be all they have and to smile big!

  8. My niece always froze up when ever a camera was around but I always say "now pretend to be a rock star" which helps her to feel like someone else is getting photographed, not her. It's the only way we have found that works.

  9. Really good picture of you and your husband and pics of your daughter. I would agree with the other comments on just being yourself, don't stress about the little things, there are people out there struggling with far more than we ever had and to be thankful.

  10. I struggle with my image as well, but I tell myself that my family loves me and my husband thinks I'm beautiful. I would encourage girls to stay true to themselves, express themselves, and their beauty will shine.

  11. I'd encourage them to feel positive about themselves. Always maintain a positive attitude, and know that everyone is beautiful in God's eyes and that's what really matters.

  12. I am fortunate enough to work at our local high school. Im all the time telling these girls how pretty they are and to be proud of who they are! I see it now as im older they beauty in everyone. I try to encourage this!

  13. Hmmm....first I would have to lead by example by watching my own negativity and self-consciousness....it sends the wrong message.

  14. I wish they all already knew how beautiful they really are. I would remind them and help them feel comfortable and natural in their own skin.

  15. Tell them to reflect their true character (be themselves) in front of the camera and tell them a joke to get a genuine smile.

  16. That you don't really know what is going on with the person you're looking at or seeing in a picture. They may be smiling, but may not be happy. Always be true to you and your smile will show from within.

  17. I have thought about this a lot because I was so shy and self-conscious in high school. If I could talk to my high school self, I would tell her that 1) nobody is thinking about you as much as you think about yourself, so stop worrying so much about it, 2) people are a lot less judgmental than you think, so just be yourself, and 3) people are drawn to confidence, so be proud! It goes without saying that I would tell myself or my future daughter that she is beautiful both inside and out.

  18. I tell my daughter that she's beautiful from the inside all the way down to her painted toes :). I want her to feel comfortable in her own skin.

  19. I would encourage them by telling them beauty comes from within and glows on the outside....so be confident and be your best!

  20. I'd tell women that they just need to be themselves and know that they look the same in a picture than when someone sees them with their eyes and people love them and know they are beautiful either way.

  21. I would tell them that God knitted them with his hands while they were still in their mother's womb. So give Him the biggest smile you can so He can see it from heaven!

  22. My 2 teenage daughters are very hard on themselves, I tell them all the time how beautiful they are. I have yet to figure out how to make them believe me. I wish they would. I know have a 2 year old son and 7 month old daughter. I will not be talking about how fat I am in front of them or how I need to lose weight. I think that has contributed to my older girl's issues, and it makes me furious with myself!

  23. Right now my great niece loves to have her picture taken, and she loves to pretend to take pictures of everything lol When she gets her picture taken in a studio we just tell her to act the way she wants to, as some of the best pictures are spontaneous.

  24. Tell them to not worry about other people, there's no point. All you have to do is be yourself, your brave and great! No ones opinion matters. The camera will catch your beauty and show how confident you are! Remember just smile and relax easy as that. Were all cheering you on behind the camera!

  25. I think even today girls are taught that the man still has to have final say over everything. I've never agreed with that since I think that if you are man or woman and have a valid reason why one choice is better than another you should stand up for your beliefs and not back down. We all have gifts and we'd all be better collectively if we chose to believe in ourselves and stand by our convictions.

  26. I always tell them how strong and beautiful they are!

  27. I think the best encouragement starts early by letting the child know from the beginning how special and loved they are and telling them they have so many people who love them. When they know that and know others want to see them as well since they are so awesome, it makes it easier.

  28. My Grand daughter is camera shy, so Joggins, our family's Golden Lab dog helps her with this, coaxing a smile from our little princess.

  29. "Smile pretty!"... and I would remind them that no one else notices any imperfections that they think they might have. Others just see the beautiful person that God created them to be. He doesn't make mistakes. Each person is different and has a special purpose in this life.

  30. This is really hard for me to answer because I am not comfortable in front of the camera. I see all of my flaws. But I can't really have that attitude though in front of my girls. If I show them that I am beautiful and confident in my self then my girls will pick up on it.

  31. I would tell them to enjoy their life. I would tell them to smile, dance and take time just to be silly. I would tell them not to care what other people think because how they feel is all that matters.

  32. I've given my 5 yo granddaughterr my camera quite often and just let het run with it. She has gotten very comfortable with photography. Whenever I shoot her I take a LOT of the same scenee..instilling in her that what might not seem like a good shot at the time could be beautiful upon review later on@ I always go over her photos and tell her what I like about her in each one@ We use photos to descrobe events and she can mimic certain faces she has madein shots upon request. She has gotten very at ease with her own image.

  33. I think you just encourage them to be themselves: authentic and genuine. I think supporting and encouraging that in kids usually helps them become confident in themselves.

  34. I would tell them how Beautiful they would look all "dressed up".....and that would make a WONDERFUL picture for their families to cherish FOREVER!!!!!:-)

  35. I would tell them to find the beautiful in themselves and don't listen to any negative things other people say. We are too harsh on one another, and we don't encourage one another enough.

  36. Just making sure they are being true to themselves, 100% honest! Not trying to act like something they are not just to be on the camera. Be authentic!

  37. I would encourage them by helping them to select things that they think are beautiful, so they have more confidence. While of course reminding them that they were always special and beautiful without those things, but just show them how to have confidence and feel good about themselves.

  38. I would encourage them to try a small theatrical production. You don't have to worry about what to say because it's somebody else's words.
