Clorox Green Works 1 Clorox Green Works Product Gift Basket Giveaway! #GreenHousewives ends 2/13

Have you ever wondered whether or not you are green or maybe you’re getting close to being green or a certain shade of green? Many times when they hear this word we think that maybe we should be using products that are more eco-friendly. After all, caring for the environment is something important, something essential, because the environment provides us the very air we breathe.

We don’t have to take extreme measures to be greener, do what you can when you can and if you take a step here and there you will find it adds up and you’re greener than you think! After all we’re human, we make mistakes and we can only do the best we can do. I think that if everyone just a made little bit of effort it would make a big difference, small steps can help. We’re fairly green in our house but I admit we’re not 100% of the time, I forget, I make mistakes but I’m still proud of all that I do.

  1. Mary Fagans says:

My biggest problem to becoming greener is some of the products cost a little more, but I now HAVE TO become “greener” because my cat is allergic to the “other” harsher products with nasty chemicals in them!

  2. wl budro says:

    Habit and cost.

  3. Heather McCormick says:

    being consistent

  4. Tammy Crowder says:

Cost and concerned that they will not work well.

  5. Jo says:

The only paper product I buy is toilet paper. I use rags for cleaning and wash them . Vinegar, peroxide and hot water work well for cleaning.

  6. jeanny pashia ville says:

around where i live we can not recycle plastic for free we have to pay so that stops me alot of times

  7. Amanda Alvarado says:

LOL That was a funny video! Aside from cost (I know there are those out there that aren’t that expensive), knowing what is and isn’t green and having to read labels! Oh and knowing what our city will and won’t recycle…they are really weird about it!

  8. kerri wright says:

My family’s 2 biggest obstacles are probably time and money. It takes alot of time to stay on a green plan all of the time, but any little thing that you can do is never too small.

  9. Megan Cromes says:

    being able to afford it!

  10. kaye lake says:

definitely the hardest part of going green is the cost of replacing all your current items with green items…

  11. Allison Downes says:

the cost is the biggest obstacle with going green

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  12. Maddie K. says:

I personally have found that trying to go green or even “organic” to be so much more expensive. Sadly, I have a really tight budget and spending even a few extra dollars here or there could mean not buying needed foods. While I do recycle I notice that many of the people in my neighborhood do not or only recycle a small amount. It is only my husband and me and I recycle about 1/2 of what we use and fill a large trash bin (recycle bin). How is it that some of these people who have kids only recycle a small amount? I don’t know. It infuriates me. I’ve gone to bringing and making my own bags to the market just to save that .5 per bag. In my house we use a lot of vinegar. I love it for cleaning with and use it in the wash as a natural softener. No, my clothes don’t smell like a salad when they come out. They smell……clean. Vinegar is cheap and goes a long way and is so versatile. Ok, I’m rambling on and will stop here even though I know I could keep on going. Thank you for the giveaway.

  13. Michelle Smith says:

My biggest challenge in becoming more green is affording some of the green products, such as organic produce and cleaning supplies. I have a large family, and sometimes organic/green is just not feasible.

  14. Darby says:

    the cost

  15. Chasity Boatman says:

Reading through all the small print ingredients etc. to verify whether it is actually green or not.

  16. Susan White says:

My biggest problem is knowing how to do things that are considered “green”.
    Thanks so much!

  17. Jessica Lodge says:

Affordability- Some things are very easy to be green in; cleaning the house, recycling, etc. But when it comes to food and body products it becomes extremely expensive and maked it hard to stay on the green track.

  18. Becky Davis says:

It is hard going green when the apartments do not do recycling.

  19. Anitha S Raghavan says:

    cost is the biggest obstacle!

  20. Bella T. says:

Our biggest problem with going green has been that our apartment complex doesn’t have easily accessible recycling. Thankfully our city passed a law that plastic bags will no longer be available starting March 1st. Everyone will be forced to use the reusable cloth bags. :)

  21. Jackie y says:

Finding the right information. You have 12 sources telling you 12 different things. It’s a bit confusing

  22. Julie Thompson says:

The cost . thank you for the giveaway

  23. Ashley Parks says:

Our family hasn’t had too much trouble being more green…. sometimes the organic food and items cost more, so that can pose a problem at times. I don’t usually find coupons for a lot of organic/green items either.

  24. Lori davis says:

My biggest obstacles are cost, and finding a green cleaner that will actually work.

  25. Krista Grandstaff says:

The biggest obstacle for me has to be the HUGE array of products calling themselves “green” but the only green thing about them is the flowery scent :) I’ve pared down the vast majority of the chemicals coming into our house… vinegar and baking soda tend to be pretty fantastic for most things…but nothing beats green works for cleaning a tile floor!

  26. Marilyn Rhea says:

I love having the choice of using green organic products. It is great, and I always choose them if I have that option.

  27. Kimberly Schotz says:

My biggest problem is knowing what is green or not

  28. natalie andrews says:

We are always trying to be green. If only the cost was less.

  29. Jill says:

I try to go as green as possible but I don’t understand why green products are more expensive than the other products.

  30. Mary Ann Knox says:

Money is my issue to going green. It seems like everything that is good for the environment costs more. For a single mom this is a very important thing.

  31. michelle warner says:

my biggest problem is to take the time to recycle i never have enough time to seperate stuff

  32. Bo says:

My biggest obstacle is actually my love of traveling I think – I was shocked to discover how bad each flight was for the environment!

  33. Angela Neynaber says:

My biggest problem with going green is the higher prices. It really isn’t THAT much more so I should be able to rationalize but it’s still hard when I live a bargain.

  34. dawn k says:

Convenience is my biggest problem with being green.

  35. Sherry S. says:

My biggest problem going green is the money I’m on a very tight budget.

  36. angela guinnip says:

I have a ton of problems with going green. From trying to get my family to go green to the area I live in. I live in a rural area and trying to recycle here is nearly impossible. Making responsible choices when shopping isn’t easy either. There aren’t many places to shop and those places don’t seem very concerned with it either. I however do my best. I try to keep in mind what choices I make will do to the environment.

  37. Autumn C. says:

I generate WAY too much trash! I need to recycle more.

  38. Kisha Cotton says:

I try to go green when I can but the biggest problem for me is im not always financially able to.

  39. Heidi says:

The hardest thing for me is brining he bottles back to machine to get the nickels. It’s a pain. In our state that is what you have to do.

  40. Marybeth says:

I try to be green, but it’s difficult to get family members to participate. I do use my own tote bags when shopping; FYI-Target offers a discount for every reusable bag you use when you shop there [wish other retailers would follow suit!!!! ].

  41. Judy Lipcsak says:

Finding organic produce – the closest store for organic produce is 20 miles from my house. That kind of defeats the purpose.

  42. D SCHMIDT says:

I do not really have any issues with going green

  43. Amy Truluck says:

My biggest obstacle is the price, and also the learning curve on what is truly green, and what is just advertised as being “green”.

  44. Susan Broughton says:

My biggest problem is availability. We live in a very small town not anywhere near a large city and if you want something green you have to drive for hours to find it. Then when I find it, it is too costly or it takes magnifying glasses to read it and make sure it is actually green! We need better availability, less cost and easier verification!!

    • Michelle says:

Susan for cleaning check out the Shaklee Basic H2 not expensive $11 for the bottle and I’m only halfway through our bottle after 1 year, we use it a lot!

  45. Lynne Z says:

My family and I typically have no problems living green… for us it’s a mindset to live responsibly

  46. Diane Cooper says:

The extensive research involved in knowing if something is in fact really green or not is very daunting. If you are going to pay more then you really want to get what you are paying for.

  47. nikki krutz says:

we need to recycle better in our house and remember my reusable bags!

  48. jodi bradshaw says:

sometimes being green doesnt cut it, meaning it doesnt make things disinfected or white/clean. ive used the combo of baking soda and vinegar for drains and clean bathrooms but end up resorting back to the regular harsh chemicals to finish the job

  49. Deborah says:

I can’t think of any problems being green. We compost, recycle. Biggest problem I can think of is that I don’t always remember to bring my reusable bags with me when shopping.

  50. jeri boss says:

i would llike to try this

  51. Sonya says:

the biggest problem is getting the rest of the family on board.

  52. Diane says:

being green is difficult but its worth it. being a mom and knowing im doing something for mine and my sons future makes me feel better.

  53. Rebecca L says:

My biggest obstacle in becoming more green, is the $ price. But I love GreenWorks.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  54. terri tillman says:

i try to be as ‘green’ as possible when ever i can. my biggest problem is the cost of most ‘green’ products.

  55. Debra F says:

Reading through all the small print ingredients etc. to verify whether it is actually green or not.
