Powered by Mom and family were lucky enough to receive the following products for the purpose of review:

  • Conditioning Shampoo
  • Daily Moisturizing Conditioner
  • Masque Hair Repair
  • Leave-in Treatment

It was the perfect time for us to try new hair care products as my 11 year old daughter had recently been having issues with having oil hair. I've always used good quality shampoos on her hair and because she has fine hair and a lot of it that knots easily. So as a result we always had to put a little conditioner in her hair so she could brush it, that's how easily it forms knots. However, lately it didn't matter how little conditioner we used her hair was oily and we couldn't go without, I think it's the tween hormones kicking in. We tried several different ones and even the combination shampoos/conditioners in one none of them worked!

The first time we tried the DermOrganic shampoo in my daughter's hair we noticed it wasn't as sudsy which is a good thing! DermOrganic is a sulfate-free formula, is safe for color treated hair (which is good for me and has essential fatty lipids and amino acids in it, so it will cleanse, moisturize, strengthen and rebuild your hair every time you use it. It’s further enriched with Argan Oil, Omega-6, Linoleic Acid, Vitamin E, Panthenol, Rice Amino Acids and antioxidants to preserve hair color. Shampoos that are sulfate-free I have read do produce less suds which you don't really need as most of that is just stuff that strips your hair instead of just cleaning it! As I was helping her to wash her hair I noticed that it felt quite moisturized and wasn't knotting up so I decide not to put conditioner in it.

Here's a picture of the shampoo mixed with water see it's not sudsy but believe it or not it's not heavy on the hair either!

To my surprise and delight her hair was easy to comb even though we had not used conditioner and after it was dried it wasn't oil anymore! So now this is the only shampoo my daughter uses, and she only has to use the conditioner at most a couple of times a week. I also only use this shampoo right now as it's gentle on my hair and protects my colored highlights. I use the hair masque about once a week for a little extra moisture and to further help protect my color treated highlights. In addition I use the leave in treatment to help protect my hair when blow drying and using a flat iron it. I absolutely love DermOrganic as it's not leaving anything behind on my hair, it's not stripping my hair dry or causing any damage! They aren't kidding when they say it's so gentle "that it's superb as a head-to-toe cleanser that leaves skin soft and supple and so healthy for your hair that you’ll never have to switch shampoos again". Yes it's even gentle enough for your skin!

Here are some quick facts that are good to know about DermOrganic:

  • Made with Argan Oil
  • Cruelty-free and Vegan (yes this is important point in our family!)
  • Sulfate-free, gluten-free, paraben-free, sodium chloride free

Overall DermOrganic gets a big two thumbs up from Powered by Mom and family for quality and being sulfate-free and an ethical company!
