My 11 year old daughter selected the Straight-up Heelys Skater shoes and let me tell you she was so excited to receive them! She didn’t know how to skate but now that she has her Heelys she’s already catching on. We LOVE these skater shoes especially since the wheels can be taken out and she can use them as regular shoes whenever she wants to. They are an excellent quality shoe, they are so well made that we were quite impressed.
Here’s a picture of the pair my daughter received.
She started out having only one wheel in one shoe to make it easier to adjust. In fact many of the kids she knows who have skater shoes often times just leave one wheel in if they wear them to school so they can cruise a bit and not have to worry about having to take out two wheels when they go to class. We had no idea until our daughter mentioned this after she got her pair and noticed some of the other kids at school with skater shoes.
While she’s not an expert skater yet after only a couple of weeks she’s already very comfortable wearing her skater shoes (with both wheels in) as they are so easy to adjust too. Heelys skater shoes are definitely so much nicer and easier to learn how to skate with than the old roller skates and in my opinion even roller blades. It’s a bonus that these quality made shoes don’t cost more than a good pair of kids shoes would cost so it’s an added bonus that it has the appeal and fun of being a skater shoe as well.
My daughter loves them as shoes as she says they are comfortable and it didn’t hurt that she’s received several compliments on them from her friends. They think they’re a pretty cool looking pair of shoes 
There are so many colors and styles to choose from that it’s hard to decide which ones to get but you have to love the variety! Here are a couple of the other styles that we also loved.

My daughter loves the Heeley shoes.
