Go HERE to see the first post. The flooring has very subtle stripes of brown and grey. What color do you think we should paint the walls? Keep in mind some of this same tiling will be up part of the way on the wall and our new vanity which you can see in our first post is dark brown wood with brown, black and tan granite icon smile Here we go again Bathroom Renos part 2 . Off to do more work on the bathroom.

My husband and I have renovated several bathrooms over our 40 year marriage. We do not use wood on the floor, or tile, as it tneds to life over time and shows grooves like a mini ocean. Ceramic tile stays clean, use grey grout with protective cover and it looks brand new til the end of time.

  2. tina says:

Love the new color on the walls

  3. Chandra Christine O'Connor says:

I think if you go with the silver you should have black in washroom, but thats my tastes what you have picked is pretty. we just put a new washroom in our house and I had placks with hits of blues in tiles but we had a brown rustic kind of tiles for flooring. we painted rest of room a smoky blue grey took me forever to choose my tiles then my hubby gets transferred so new owners get to enjoy my beautiful newly built washroom lol.

  4. christine porter says:

i am commenting here for the maggie bag contest..good luck with renovations….thank you

  5. Mary Bearden says:

You have more energy than I do! That looks like a monumental task.

  6. Mackenzie says:

I’m curious, what made you go with tile flooring? We’re bouncing around between hardwood, laminate, and vinyl, but I haven’t thought about hardwood tiles before. Are they easy to install and maintain?

    • Michelle says:

Hi Mackenzie, believe it or not that one is a ceramic tile from Costco, we went with it for the color we thought it would go with everything, pricing, will hold up well with our dogs, size and yes according to my hubby it’s easy to install :)

  7. Jerri Davis says:

When the bathroom is finished I hope I get to see pictures of it. Thank You Jerri Davis

  8. desiree says:

it look great and then you can change color of the towel ans a cessoy with out paint

  9. Missy Marie says:

    Looks awesome!!

  10. Jewels moran says:

WOW!!! Wtg!! What an amazing job!!! It looks so nice. I like the flooring!!! Is it completed!?! That would take me forever. I procrastinate too much. Lol.

  11. diane sabatini says:

Love the flooring; would look cool and beachy with a faint light aqua on the walls.

  12. Barbi Vogel says:

Looks great so far. We just finished our Master Bathroom a couple months ago. It was a lot of work, but well worth the effort.

  13. Donna says:

Good luck getting it done. Our house burnt and we have been trying to remodel for awhile now and it seems like when you start something it always changes and takes longer than it should.

  14. Kelly A. Tanner says:

I would choose a light gray for the walls. I love the floors!

  15. Amy C. says:

    I love those tiles!

  16. I love everything you have done so far!! I cant wait to see new pics!!

  17. Jill Jacoby says:

I love the way it is coming together. The floor tiles are awesome and I love the vanity. It is so hard to know how paint will look on your wall when you look at it under the store lighting but wait and see how you like it when the room is done.

    • Michelle says:

Thanks Jill and that’s so true about paint. I tried it in so many different lights to look at it lol. I’m getting used to the color now can’t wait to share it with you all once it’s done :)

  18. Sandy McFadden says:

I would chose a light or med gray color to compliment all the changes you have made.

  19. Kayleen Considine says:

I would go with light blue for the walls. Blue is supposed to be a very calming color and I think it would go well with everything else.

  20. michelle oakley warner says:

omg have fun with that, i need to do mine as well but not looking forward to it, i hope it comes out well for you

  21. Robin O says:

I would vote for yellow walls. But that might not be appropriate.
I like your choice of flooring. Good luck with the ongoing project!

  22. Tyger Young says:

    wow, nice work!

  23. The flooring is nice, it looks easy to keep clean, though no bathroom floor is easy to keep clean :)

  24. judy watts says:

Can,t wait to see the completed Bathroom redo

  25. We are actually remodeling our bathroom now so alot of your ideas have been very helpful!! I cant wait until BOTH of ours are finished!!!

  26. Judy Lipcsak says:

I read the coolest thing in my new BH&G magazine. There is a company that does a bathroom-in-a-box. After you meet with their sales rep they deliver a crate to your house that contains everything you or your contractor needs to compete the remodel. How cool is that?

  27. Jennifer Mae Hiles says:

Love love love the Vanity, it is gorgeous! I’m going to have to go with lime green with sparkly blue stars? hehe just kidding. A light brown or off white would look nice. Having a new remodeled room is the best feeling and good luck!

  28. Vicky Allan says:

I am inspired. I can’t wait to see the finished product. I love that you are sharing this project with us. It’s fun to see what others do when they renovate. We are in the middle of trying to do the same thing and it is hard work. Unfortunately our whole house is a renovation job I wish it was just the bathroom. We are in a house that the previous owner started in every room and finished none LOL. It is a mess. Look forward to some more pictures and your finished product. :)

  29. Renee Travis says:

I would go with a light tan or a cream color to make it look larger. Also with the dark floor and dark vanity it will set the room off!

  30. Jane Ritz says:

I can’t wait to see the finished product. I love that you are sharing this project with us. It’s fun to see what others do when they renovate.

  31. Kathleen says:

I think you should go with a light tan or ecru color for the walls. Too much brown would make it look smaller. Maybe even a rich eggshell. I’d be interested to see the end result when you are all finished. Hope it all goes without a hitch for you! It seems like every time we redo something, we hit snags that has a domino affect and we end up spending way more than was expected.

  32. Sue Hull says:

I like your floor. The wall would look good a tan color to match all the colors of the bathroom. It’s always fun to see how the end comes out.

  33. Constance Zimmer says:

I am SO jealous!!!! I wish I could remodel our bathrooms…. actually, I wish I could just buy a larger house where everybody had their OWN bathroom!!!!!

  34. Maria Iemma says:

Oh My, I feel for you – I am going to remodel the kitchen this year and I dread the mess. Keep focused on how beautiful your bathroom will look

  35. lisa says:

What a lot of work. I’m sure it’ll be well worth the time and effort. I wish we could remodel our bathroom. It’s so outdated!

  36. Jessica White says:

Floor looks good, I’m doing my bathroom this month I hope to get it finished soon!

  37. Aria H. says:

I would go with a light color to make the room look larger trick. Sand goes well with gray and brown, or try a textured brush stroke technique with one color on top of another.

  38. You are brave!! Remodeling is HARD work. It is rewarding but it takes awhile to be able to feel that gratification. I think I would consider a light brownish (like coffee with creamer in it) for the walls to compliment the floor and to keep it from sucking up the light since the vanity is darker. It looks like it’s going to absolutely beautiful!!

  39. christi baham willie says:

    LOVE the flooring!

  40. Mikki Cross says:

As the vanity is dark and the bathroom small and some of the tiles will be on the wall, I’d say stay with a lighter color gray or brown on the walls. You don’t really need height so maybe you’d consider putting the grain of the tiles length wise on the walls. The bathroom will appear longer and under the window it would appear wider. Just a thought.

  41. Julie Wood says:

I think that remodeling is always hard work, but very rewarding to see how nice your bathroom or any room looks like when it is completed. I know that it can be expensive, but I bet you will love it when it is done!

  42. Karen Glatt says:

I like the flooring that you are putting in! It is a lot of work to redo a bathroom. I did mine, but it was worth it when it is done! I can not wait to see how it turns out!

  43. Cassie Strain says:

I’m loving it! Bathroom remodeling is hard work, but is so nice to have done! I like the floor choice, I think I would do three walls a tan color, and a muted blue for the ‘color’ wall!

  44. Judy Lipcsak says:

That tile is really nice. If you want a modern look I’d choose a grey toned paint. If you want something a little warmer, I’d go with a light blue.

  45. Jerri Davis says:

Looks like fun I need that here you might paint that a light beige . Thank you. Jerri Davis

  46. Wanda Tracey says:

I think your floor will look really great with a lighter color or even white. It’s going to look nice when you finish it.

  47. Briana Kennedy says:

    Beautiful flooring!

  48. I love the tile, I think you should go with something bright for the walls like a lime or a berry.

  49. Evelyn Hall says:

Looking good! you wouldn’t want to see the Whole small house we have to literally gut out and redo!

  50. Michele Koterbski says:

Great looking tiles. I’m envious. We’ve been in our house 15 years and have all builders options in the house, still. Would love to do some remodeling.

  51. Michelle Proper says:

Anything white & bright is good! Been there & I know the work invloved!

  52. Cindy Brickley says:

I can’t wait to see your finish product. I wish I could redo my bathroom, but I have more important home projects going on right now.

  53. Id say a ocean light blue or a blue grey

  54. I say white!!!!! makes your bathroom look clean and modern!!

  55. Vicki Hale says:

I see a beach going go on! xo Vicki

  56. alicia keen says:

    major changes!! looks good!

  57. Holly Rhone says:

    that is looking good :D

  58. Brenda Wood says:

Soft beige or super pale gray I would think for your walls.

  59. Amber H says:

Very nice! good luck with everything. I know renovations can be a pain.

  60. Deborah Mireles says:

I would go with a subtle beige or tan color, good luck!

  61. ashley seeley says:

    it looks really good

  62. Tonya L says:

I like the flooring! Very different.

  63. Michelle says:

  64. barbara tryon says:

I would paint my walls White because when its your bathroom you wanna know its clean! Love the flooing

  65. Stephanie Thompson (Free) says:

Coming along nice. I think a lighter color like tans or butter colors would look good with the floor.

  66. Mary Blanton says:

I LOVE the flooring! Looks like a lot of work but it’s gonna be gorgeous!
