cHRISTMAS IN JULY

In our home our pets are considered family members. They may be a little different because they have four legs and fur, but that doesn't make us love them any less!  They are an important, and integral, part of our family! They bring us love, comfort and joy. Our pets make us laugh with their silly antics. If we are sad, they quietly lend an ear to our troubles, providing a quiet comforting presence. Without them, our lives would be empty! We just couldn't imagine life without them.

Here is my daughter with our two dogs Luna (the bigger dog a Blue Heeler) and our Chihuahua Little Zeus or as we call him LZ

While our pets are very loved and spoiled members of our family, unfortunately there are so many homeless animals that are living in fear and pain! They have no one to love and care for them and no one to share their gift of love with. Thinking about them breaks my heart and I want to help as much as I can. While a lot of us are not in the position to adopt or foster pets, there is a way we can help! Hope for Paws is a wonderful non-profit Animal Rescue Organization whose mission is to rescue and save animals!

Sadly there are far too many animals out there who are abused and neglected. Many are living in shockingly horrible condition in both "homes", hoarder situations, dog fighting rings and on the street. Some dogs have been found living in garbage dumps, sewers and more.

Hope for Paws works to save stray animals. These animals are living a life of misery and death. They have no one to care for them. These pets have to scavenge for food for survival. They suffer through bad weather, are at risk for being hit by cars and suffer abuse from cruel people. Some are in pain from wounds, broken bones, infections, parasites, and infestations. It's a sad way for a living thing to live!

I have a passion for wanting to do what I can to help animals and while I can't always donate much, I can volunteer my time and donate what I can afford  Sometimes we think there's nothing we can do, but there is and it can be as little as donating $1, yes just $1 and luckily right now I have a sponsor who will match our donations! It's hard to think of these poor pets suffering without our heart breaking.  So, we are partnering with Balsam Hill. Balsam Hill is celebrating Christmas in July!

What does Christmas in July have to do with helping animals in need? Well, we are excited to tell you that right now for every $1 donated for Hope for Paws, Balsam Hill will match it up to $1000 for Hope for Paws!

But, that's not all!

For every $5 donation, you receive a chance to at the entire Balsam Hill Mistletoe & Holly Ornament Set!

For every $25 donation, you will receive a Balsam Hill Mistletoe & Holly Christmas Ornament!

Even if you can only give $1, every dollar matters and will go toward helping these pets! Your donation will go directly to Hope for Paws, and their efforts to protect and help these unfortunate animals.

We can't tell you how tremendous this is! Now, I'm asking for your help. If all of us could give just $1, think how much that would be and how far it would go in helping these animals! I would love to see us reach our goal of at least $1,000. I know we can do this if we all pull together!

Would you considering helping with a small donation?

CLICK HERE to donate and help make a difference in the lives of these neglected and forgotten animals today!

We would love to say a heartfelt THANK YOU for helping us help homeless and neglected animals.

I received the ornaments pictured above so that I could share them with you. I did not receive any monetary compensation for this post. It's all about helping and rescuing animals in dire need.

  1. Hi Michelle!

This is truly a wonderful cause. To be quite honest, I am appalled that some of us just do not care for animals properly. Some even treat them cruelly. It’s important that we stand up for animals. They deserve to be treated correctly. They deserve to live in a proper environment and to have a home where they can be happy. I hope more people will read this post and be inspired to help all the animals out there who need to be taken care of.

I’m curious how people can contact the organization if they are concerned about animals. If you have the details, would definitely appreciate if you also post it on this page.

  2. I don't understand how someone could hurt a helpless animal that wants nothing more than to love you. I adopted an abused, older beagle from the pound. He would occasionally have an accident, and I'd look at his broken tail and nervous face and could never bring myself to yell at him much less hurt him physically. Thank you for doing this, I hope you meet your goal!

  3. I just don't understand why anyone would want to abuse an animal. They have unconditional love for their owner. I would love to make a difference and donate some money to this organization.

  4. I am so glad that there are kind & generous people who truly care about the abused and neglected animals. I have never understood how anyone can be so evil as to look into a loving animals eyes and be mean to it. I wish I could afford to donate but I am a widow on a very limited income. I truly hope you reach your goal!

  5. I think it's very sad that people get animals and abuse or neglect them. It's important to not buy a surprise gift of an animal for someone. It's a person thing. They and the animal have to like each other before they're brought into a home.

  7. I wish I could give some right now but I can't. I had to take my littlest fur baby to the vet yesterday she's very sick. I have 2 who rescued me. They are my everything. I admire you greatly for doing all you can for those who need help. I give when I can, they are so important in the lives of people. Precious babies for sure.

  8. I want to send money but I don't have a check or credit card. I can send a money order next wk. Is there an address to send it to? I will look to see if I can find an address. I wish I could send a lot but being on SSI doesn't leave money for extras. I love love dogs and I'd love to send what I can. Thank you Michelle for everything you do to help animals. You're a good person with a beautiful & giving heart 🙂

  9. I just noticed where it says if you donate $25 you can get those ornaments. I already donated, but does it have to be $25 in a one time donation? Can I add more money to what I already gave & it adds up to $25 can I still get the set? In other words donate 3 different times where the total is $25? Sorry for the confusion...

  19. Oh how the picture of the one eyed dog tears at my heart strings...he is so precious. I'm just happy for him (or her) that he has escaped whatever his past was. If there's something I despise more than anything, that I hate with every fiber of my being, it's the abuse & neglect of all things helpless! I have no problem giving & helping in any way I can, towards those Causes. Thank you for doing this & I hope more people will step up. (p.s. I gave too)
