#StreamTeam

I'm not going to lie my family and I have been waiting for the Marvel's The Defenders on Netflix. We were counting down the days and then it was here! Can you say we binged watched?

The Defenders

In case you're not up to date on all things Marvel or Netflix (gasp) here's the low down. Netflix's Marvel superheroes from FOUR different shows Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and the Iron Fist all team up in the Defenders. You've got Matt Murdock the Daredevil, Luke Cage the bulletproof man, Jessica Jones who is a private detective with incredible strength and the newest super hero Danny Rand the multi-millionaire back from the dead, raised by monks who became the Iron Fist.

Sound complicated? Well when you put four characters who each have their own solo show into one show it can get complicated. It's also very entertaining and a ton of fun and action. I will admit the first episode was a bit slow as they re-introduced the characters and we got to find out what was happening to them now. Basically each character is introduced leaving off from wherever their series last left off. We had to go back and catch up on a few as it's been at least a year for the last season of the Daredevil and Jessica Jones.

Fortunately we had Luke Cage and the Iron Fist shows after the other two and before the Defenders but it's still been a wait. The family and I got hooked right away and yes we binged watched. Two days and we're finished the first season of the Defenders. We didn't want to stop but we kind of did because we knew once we were done then we'd have to wait.

However, if you're a Marvel fan or a fan of any of the four shows you don't want to wait to watch the Defenders. I love that they are super heroes but each with some very major character flaws. So it's not all everyone saves the day and all is good at the end of the day. It's a bit more raw and that works for these shows and we love it.

If you haven't watched any (really don't say you haven't) of the shows or haven't seen some of them I would suggest watching them first. It will help pull the story line of the Defenders together for you. In addition they are all just entertaining so go and watch and enjoy some Netflix/Marvel time. I know we did!

  1. I love Marvel! I really hope they don't disappoint with all the characters coming together. I heard this was the final season for all of the individual characters, anyone hear that as well?

    • Hi Michelle, no it's not the final season. Daredevil and Iron Fist are back in 2019 I believe and Jessica Jones and Luke Cage in 2018.
