Powered by Mom does Mocha Monday with Almond Breeze #CoolerwithAlmondBreeze
I am absolutely thrilled to say that I was selected to be a part of the #CoolerWithAlmondBreeze program in Canada! Why am I excited about this?! I am excited because I LOVE almond milk and in fact Almond Breeze was the brand that originally won me over to including almond milk in my daily nutrition. I've never been a big milk drinker, don't like the taste but I love other dairy products.
When I discovered Almond Breeze Almond Milk Mocha Mondays were created and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday 😉 . My mochas with almond milk are so yummy and it's all part of my journey of being the healthiest me possible and Almond Breeze kickstarting it for me for 2015. Read on and I'll have you wanting to try an almond milk mocha too.
Love my healthy gift pack from Almond Breeze below! It's all going to help me take more steps in my journey to being the healthiest me possible!
I've been drinking almond milk for a couple of years and it was Almond Breeze that turned me into an almond milk convert. The only milk I did use was cream in my coffee, lots of cream & sugar (shudder). When I went searching for milk alternatives, all the research led me to almond milk as it was a great source of calcium, lactose free, gluten free and of course dairy free.
I had finally found something I could drink in my coffee that liked that wasn't fattening cream! Switching to almond milk gave me a healthier alternative to my coffee along with cutting down my sugar intake.
Best thing I ever did as I liked it right away, the chocolate, regular, unsweetened, vanilla I loved them all and I liked it in my coffee especially my mochas and lattes! Now I only almond milk for my mochas and lattes. When I heard that Almond Breeze was coming out this month with a refrigerated almond milk I couldn't wait to try it! I found it at my local health food store but I've heard it's at IGC and possibly Thrifty's here in BC and it can be found at Sobey's across Canada.
It comes in original and unsweetened original, as well as vanilla and unsweetened vanilla yum. Are you wondering just how good almond milk is in my mocha or latte? How do I do it? Well first I add like ½ teaspoon of cocoa to my cup, you can use hot chocolate if you want. I also add about 1-1 ½ teaspoons of my coconut sugar and then I brew my coffee, usually espresso shots for the mochas or lattes.
I froth the almond milk as I like foam and for anyone who doesn't know or tried it before almond milk foams oh so nicely check it out! Super foamy!
I used the original unsweetened almond milk but I also love it with the sweetened one which still doesn't add that much more sugar or calories. Even more scrumptious is the vanilla almond milk to use for a vanilla latte or even in my mocha, I'm not picky it all tastes good. It's foamy, has a creaminess to it without being heavy like coffee cream.
Switching to almond milk for my coffee alone cut down on drinking a lot of cream and my sugar and I still get a great coffee. I think my mochas are better than Starbucks but I am biased. It's such a healthy alternative that is lower in fat without tasting like it, awesome source of calcium and remember it's lactose, gluten, dairy and cholesterol free! It's a mocha you don't have to feel guilty about!
Check out the back of the carton and see all the goodness it contains!
Almond Breeze is the ultimate creamy, silky texture that just tastes good. I always have one of the shelf stable cartons in my cupboard in case I forget to go shopping before I run out. Now I have even more options with their new refrigerated almond milk yum. They are virtually the same the shelf stable remains at a high temperature for longer than the refrigerated product during production, and is packaged in a tetra-pak designed for shelf stability prior to opening. Just depends on your preference, I like both.
I also use almond milk in my cereal, oatmeal, some soups and of course my smoothies but it's more than just smoothies. I'll be sharing a smoothie recipe and possibly a surprise recipe with you all later this month. If you haven't tried almond milk yet why not, it's the best milk alternative out there and of course in my opinion it tastes better than milk it's my first choice! Almond Breeze almond milk will continue to play a big role in my journey of being healthy as possible for 2015 as I try even more new ways to enjoy my almond milk. Oh the possibilities!
This post was sponsored by Almond Breeze however as always all opinions are 100% my own. I truly love almond milk, wouldn't you if you had mochas like this? 🙂
Thanks so much on your fantastic review of Mocha Monday with Almond Breeze #CoolerwithAlmondBreeze! Well, Since I last posted, I purchase some almond milk! I have had it in my coffee and also in a smoothie/milkshake type of thing. I liked it! I bought the refrigerated version that I found at my local grocery store! I saw they had small containers and I was going to get that one. Something told me to look down and I did! I saw that the large container of Almond Milk was on sale for the exact same price as the small one! So, I bought the bigger one! Wouldn't you? It's still in my fridge and I don't know how quickly it goes bad! I keep forgetting it's in there until I read a post from you or someone mentions it! I'll have to check the date on the carton and if it's still good, I'll have to remember it in my coffee! Thanks for the fantastic review on Almond Breeze! I truly do appreciate it and See, I listen! Thanks, Michele 🙂
I already drink Almond Milk and can't wait to try this recipe!!
I haven't tried this brand yet. I usually drink Silk. Cute coffee mug by the way.
I haven't yet tried almond milk but I hear it is delicious. I'm not much of a reg. milk drinker. I LOVE buttermilk though. Going to try the almond milk soon.
I have not tried almond milk yet, but have heard a lot of my friends talk about how much they enjoy it. I think I will give it a try - you have inspired me with the great pictures!
I have not yet tried almond milk. You make it sound quite yummy in coffee.I typically use cream, but next trip to the store I think I'll pick up some Almond Breeze and give it a try.
Yummy Almond Breeze Almond Milk and its good for you too
I like this better than milk and it is so much more healthy for me!!
My daughter's favorite!
I haven't tried AlmondMilk. I tried Silk but I wanted something more. Thank you for this review. Will probably try Almond Milk!
that looks so good,,never tried this before
I have never tried almond milk before and it sounds really good. Your mocha coffee sounds really good too.
this is good but i done it on the hot choctale
I have tried almond milk and yes it's good, I'll give you that. However I'm a milk fan I need the milk fat if that's what you call it. When I put the almond milk in my tea it was just to light I needed something heavier. I thought I would get used to it but I didn't. After 2 weeks of using it. I had to have my whole milk back. I don't use sugar but I have to have whole milk.
I drink almond milk all the time and this sounds delicious.
I have never had almond milk before either. This does look good, I love lattes any time of day. I will try the Almond Milk! Thanks.
Thanks for the Fantastic Review of Mocha Monday with Almond Breeze #CoolerwithAlmondBreeze! I have been very reluctant about trying the Almond Breeze or Coconut Milk! They cost more than the regular 2% milk and I keep thinking, "what if I don't like it? I've wasted my money!" I read a recipe yesterday that was made with coconut milk, coconut sugar and coconut flour. I've heard of the first 2 but not the flour! This stuff is all new to me because I was brought up "old school" with the regular milk, regular sugar, etc. I do use a sweetener in my coffee with 2% milk and that's how I've been drinking it for years! I would love to try one of these newer methods, I'm just worried about not liking it and wasting money - the reason for the money part is because my hubby just had his 2nd surgery in 5 months and money is really tight right now. Do they sell this Almond Breeze in small containers? I'd love to try it with a small container first. Thanks so much for the review and all the wonderful information you have shared with us! I would love to try it, maybe I will! Thanks again, I honestly appreciate it! Michele 🙂
Looks so good! Thanks for sharing!
This looks so good. I have never tried Almond Milk before. I will have to give this a try
I have to admit I have never tried this, but I should. I'm a little lactose-intolerant, so I don't drink milk, but I use it on cereal now & then. I bet this would taste better, too.
I love almond milk, thank you for sharing this with us.
Oooooo I'm with ya girl! I had actually tried Silk years ago and YUCK! (Sorry to any Silk lovers out there!) I was doing the "clean eating" thing but I didn't feel very energetic really. Then in 2010 I started competing in Figure competitions (long story) and switched to a high fat, high protein, super low carb diet so I had to get rid of my skim milk (which was fine by me, also YUCK). I reluctantly tried the Almond Breeze unsweetened vanilla since it fit into my low carb deal and WOW, it was so good!!! I'm a huge fan of dairy, just not milk, but I love the Almond Breeze! 🙂
I have never tried almond milk before. The drink you made looks good. I'd like to try it.
Almond Breeze has been a favorite for some time now.....always have a couple cartons in the fridge!
I like their Almond Coconut Milk. Even my husband likes it & we use to be dairy farmers.
I've been using soy and almond milk for years, the chocolate versions are usually really good. I don't like it in my coffee so much, it doesn't seem to blend right, but great for smoothies, chia pudding, over cereal.
I am surprised by that as I have no issues with blending it in my coffee, love it in everything 🙂
