Powered by Mom shares her Old Time Candy Christmas Chocolate Lovers Review

My hubby and I don't buy each other expensive gifts over the holidays. We will save our money to get our daughter something she really wants and we will give each other smaller items. We enjoy doing this as it challenges us to think of what the other person might enjoy without blowing our budgets. When I heard about Old Time Candy I knew that I hand found one of those perfect gifts for my hubby and to be honest almost anyone in my family!

Let's face it almost everyone loves candy and in my family chocolate can rule supreme! That's why I was drawn to Old Time Candy and their entire line of products. They have these cool decade boxes where you can have either an assortment of different candies and chocolates from the 20s to the 90s or you can have it all as one decade. Talk about bringing back childhood memories, I know that certain candies take me back! All I could think was how cool is this company?!

For this holiday season I was of course drawn to the Christmas Chocolate Lover's Box where you can select one of their covers and then have a personalized message printed on it. You can also get these awesome chocolate boxes with birthday covers! As you can see in our first picture we went with Merry Christmas Dad as my daughter really wanted to be the one to give this to my hubby. That's okay as it totally fits into our keeping it easy on the budget gift giving to us grown ups. However when my daughter got to see what was inside the box I could tell she was wishing she could dive in and start eating some of those treats!

Can you see that smile on her face below, she really wanted some of those chocolates. It was hard for her to close that box but she did and left the contents intact. I suspect I'll be having to get an Old Time Candy Box for her in the future. They haven't made her decade yet so she might get to try a bit of all of it or maybe the 80s since that's when her parents were kids 🙂

My daughter says she wants dad to open this gift first. I'm not sure if it's because she's excited to give it to him or excited that he will share some of the contents with her :). Either way I know Old Time Candy is going to be a hit in our home if my daughter's reaction is any indication. I have to admit I'm tempted to explore the box more and maybe try a treat but so far I've resisted.

  2. You and your daughter are strong. As soon as I saw that Reeses it would be gone. Lol! I'd like to get one of these for my dad for Father's Day next yr. I got one for my daughter and I picked the 80s since she was born in 1985. It had some yummy candy in it. The Razzles brought back so many good memories, both a candy and a gum. Lol!

  7. I had never heard of this before, but I must say this would make an awesome gift!!! I love the nostalgic value of this gift and just reading this article conjures up memories of my own childhood. At 56, I've tried a lot of different candies in my life. One of those that brings back vivid memories are the spiral caramel candies know as Snirkles. My grandpa used to take my siblings and I to the corner gas station to buy them. I believe they were two for a nickel back in those days. Beautiful memories of days gone by.

  9. Thanks so much for the Terrific Review on the Old Time Candy Chocolates! I think that this is one of the neatest gifts to receive! If you get the box for the year you were really growing up, it really takes you back when you look at the candies you used to love when you were young! I would love to receive a gift like this! I think you're going to have to hide that box until Christmas or there might be some things missing by the time your husband gets it on Christmas day! Thanks for the review and the pictures! I really do appreciate it! Thanks again, Michele 🙂

  10. Seeing your daughter with that box of candy brings me back to when my sister used to come in with a bag full of candy, the only difference is my sister wouldn't share her candy.

  22. Interesting to see some of those candies that "aren't available" anymore. If Old Time Candy has them, someone is still making them. Bring them back for national distribution!

  24. I think this would be a great give for some of the "older" folks on my Christmas list. Opening a box like this one with candy from when they were in their younger days would bring back some "sweet" memories for them. I am sure they could tell some great stories as they eat and enjoy each different piece of candy. Thank you for sharing about this company and what they have to offer.

  25. Oh, so much will-power for such a little girl, lol!! This is great timing; I'm trying to find several small gifts for my parents' 45th wedding anniversary next year. I thought I'd spread them out over the entire year. A 70's themed candy box would be perfect!!
