Powered by Mom gets an early Mother's Day Gift - Old Time Candy!

It's true that I can have a sweet tooth sometimes and I definitely LOVE chocolate. I have some favorites from over the years, from when I was a young child, teenager and now that I'm all grown up. Some you can't seem to get any more or haven't seen in stores for years but if you go to Old Time Candy you might just find them.

Old Time Candy Mother's Day

They have candy that from the different decades, I know when I went and looked on their website there were some that they had that I hadn't seen in years. There decade boxes, chocolate boxes and more make for a fun (and yummy) gift any time of the year. I got my husband a box for Christmas and I admit I was eyeing some of the candy he had. Apparently so much so that my family decided I needed one for Mother's Day, well before since we had to share it beforehand for this review 😉

My daughter came up with the personalized message on the box take a look. She was pretty proud of herself for coming up with this message lol

I of course was in heaven wiht all that chocolate, I'm slowly making my way through, savoring my favorites, enjoying some nostalgia. I'll admit I had a few flashes of my childhood when I saw the Chocolate Mirage Sticks that look liek they're in a cigarette pack. I can't believe we used to think it made us look cool to have a pretend (or even real) cigarette hanging out of our mouth. The chocolate sticks were eaten though regardless 🙂

I love that they have so many varities of candies from over the years it's a ton of fun and it's one of those gifts you can give any time of the year for almost any occassion! Think about it these are great for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Graduations, Birthdays, Easter and more! I'm going to be enjoying my box for quite a long time as this awesome 4lb chocolate box  is jammed with over 40 of your old time favorite candy bars including Bun, Charleston Chew, Goo Goo Cluster and many more.

  1. So many candies that bring back memories of being a kid 🙂 I remember Fun Dips and Ring Pops were the fun thing to have in the summer and whatchamacallits was my chocolate candy bar of choice. The man that ran the little store around the corner always had them on sale because they were his favorite too 🙂

It would be cool to get my grandma one of these from the year she was born and see if remembers the candy from her childhood. I wonder what the 2010s assortment would look like?

  8. It's hard to pick just one - I remember so many candies from my childhood, probably because my mother would only let me have one piece at a time! My grandmother used to give me honey candies and horehound drops, which she decided were healthy. And my paternal grandfather kept Life Savers in his car when we visited, just so he could give them to me when we went somewhere.

I still LOVE chocolate though!!

    • Matzsmith if you look at the description it tells you what kinds you get and since it's a mix yes you would get ones that are still around. The candies you can get specific decades if you didn't want "current" candy. However in the first picture there are 5 "chocolates" that are from the 80s or earlier, this is not the "decades candy box" it's a mix chocolate one, it wouldn't have the wax lips etc.. because they are not chocolate. I have link to their full description. Thanks.

  127. Oh wow, I totally forgot about the sky bar. I used to love those when I was a kid. There were many good candy bars that they stopped making. Hopefully, they'll bring them back.

  130. Love lots of the Old Time Candies. Candy Cigarettes, the candy dots that came on the paper, bottle wax, chuckles and more. One of my favorites is no longer around, it was the Marathon bar. Braided caramel covered with chocolate and it was about the size of a ruler. It was so good.

  134. This does take me back to childhood! We used to have a "rolling store" come by our house, and sometimes if we could talk our mother into it, we would get some candy. It was so good!
