Hope mat

Almost everyone has been affected by cancer, whether it was a family member, friend, friend of a friend or themselves. I myself lost my mom to cancer, she had cancer of the kidney and lost her battle when she was only 54 years old. To say that I'm passionate (like so many others) about finding a cure for cancer would e an understatement.

I appreciate and support 100% initiatives such as the Welcome-a-Cure has been doing for 10 years. Some of the statistics are must staggering!

In 2014, it was expected that over 220,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer, and nearly 40,000 of those women will die. Improvements and funds for breast cancer research are essential to preventing deaths, finding a cure and eradicating the disease for good.

I appreciate that 25% of the purchase price of each Pink Ribbon welcome mat sold through the Carpet One Floor & Home Welcomes Your Support Campaign is donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®. So far, the campaign has raised nearly 1 million dollars for a variety of breast cancer research charities.

Purchasing a welcome mat contributes directly to raising funds for breast cancer research and hopes for finding a cure. Not only are these Pink Ribbon Welcome Mats well made for both indoor and outdoor use, they are also made in the USA.  There are several designs and colors, something to suit everyone and their home. Who would not want one of these wonderful mats welcoming guests and family into their home?

I received two of these fabulous mats and have both them at my front door. We have a double door entry way and with all of the pine needles and dirt that get track through my home between the people and the dogs one mat would not be enough. I was really thrilled to receive the Home/Hope one and a second one that is navy blue in color with a tan geometric design. They are both displayed proudly at my front door.

You can tell right away that both mats are well made, they have a dense rubber backing that makes them anti-slip and the mats themselves are easy to clean. I've just wiped them off with a damp cloth, more of a spot clean so far is all that they've needed. I love that there are also some pet themed mats along with so many other choices. I would find it hard to select just one as all the designs are very nice.

However besides how they look and how well they are made (which is important) I'm happy they are holding up to my rough and tumble family and they are a gentile reminder that even just by purchasing something we may need in our home we are supporting breast cancer research and funding.

These mats make for wonderful gifts to for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and well really any occasion as they support an important cause and they are a beautiful addition to our front door.

Supporting research has helped!

  • Death rates from breast cancer have been declining since about 1990, in part due to better screening and early detection, increased awareness, and continually improving treatment options.
  • Right now there are nearly 3 million breast cancer survivors in the United States.
  • When detected and treated early, 5-year relative survival for localized breast cancer is 98.5

  7. I find the review to be heart warming, sincere, and made by a dedicated company that supports the cause. i have lost family members to BC and now i help people with BC and take people for preventative exams & their mammograms and/or to visit family in the hospital often bringing them to my humble home afterwards. The mat would remind them that they are more than welcome in my home!

  8. These facts are actually good to know. A 98.5% five year success rate is good. My mother was a victim of breast cancer in the mid 90's. I have a friend who has made it past her 5 year mark too. These rugs are so stylish and look to be of good quality too. Nice!

After a horrific year in the hospital she went into remission. I' mhappy to say she's a beautiful and healthy 27 year old.

  19. My mother had cancer three times and beat it twice. The third time it took her. My father had cancer of the colon and he is now gone. My husband is in remission right now and my in-laws both had cancer and are now gone. I lost a good friend due to breast cancer so I support cancer of all kinds as much as we can. Its a terrible disease. The mats are so nice and would look very nice in our home and it would show our support.

  22. I like that they give 25% of the profits. That and the mats are easy to clean. The mat I use now just collects dirt and then it gets tracked through the house.

  23. I've had 2 Aunts who were Breast Cancer Survivors! I am well aware of making sure that I get myself checked once a year with a mammogram! I just went this past fall and I was shocked that now they have 3D mammograms! They say that it's much easier to pick up the tiniest tumor and have very early detection! Thank God for that! With all the technology that we have today, I just don't understand how they cannot come up with a cure! My husband is such a doubter, however, he says that they have a cure for cancer, however, they don't want it released to the general public because people would start living longer lives and there would be more and more people on the earth! I myself don't know if I believe that or not! Anyway, these mats look very nice and sturdy! I'm sure they can handle the in and out traffic that goes through my house every day with the kids and the dogs! If I were to win these mats, I would proudly display them for all to see! Thanks for the information which you provided all of us. I honestly do appreciate it! Thanks again, Michele 🙂

  24. We have several family friends who are breast cancer survivors. They are all truly amazing women and are also reminders to love and learn everyday, don't hold grudges or be mad at each other, you never know when it'll be the last time you see/speak to them. Aside from that, these mats look as though they are well made and could handle the traffic of 5 people plus many guests coming and going on a daily basis. Most mats don't last long here.
