A delicious story about the Pizza Press in Anaheim

This summer during our family vacation we stayed at the Carousel Inn and Suites that is a stone's throw away from Disneyland. Lucky for us the onsite restaurant is the Pizza Press, it's an experience for not only your taste buds but it's fun to watch. The pizzas are made with pizazz and precision, producing one of the most delicious meals you can have in the area and beyond. I'm thrilled to share this review of the Pizza Press with you even as I and my family drool wishing we could go to the Pizza Press right now!

Gill one of the managers at the Pizza Press and his awesome crew invited our entire party of six to come and enjoy the Pizza Press experience. I have to admit by the time we arrived for our dinner I was really looking forward to eating at the Pizza Press. For the few days before I had noticed that no matter what time of day I walked buy the cozy little restaurant was always busy, that's always a good sign. While I'm not a big breakfast eater the other half of our six person party are and they had mentioned how they had enjoyed the breakfast sandwiches they had picked up at the Pizza Press. So I was intrigued to find out more, taste some food and of course find out why it was called Pizza Press. I did not look up any information beforehand as I wanted to see it all first hand for myself.

We quickly learned what the "press" part of the name comes from and that is thanks to the decor and overall theme of the restaurant. As they describe it it's their modern twist on the Roaring Twenties decor, complete with quirky newspapers from yesteryear. The theme is throughout from the chalk drawings to the black and white photographs on the wall. It of course continues on to the the menu with pizza names like The Tribune, the Times, The Chronicle, The Herald, the The Sun and a Jr. Editor kid's meal. What surprised me and will make your wallets happy was how inexpensive the meals were. Our individual pizzas which were HUGE were only $10 each. You could also customize your pizzas which is always nice. The kid's Jr. Editor meal is only $7 and that includes a cookie and a fountain drink. That beats the heck out of McDonald's and other fast few restaurants in my opinion. Fresh ingredients, made to order, for that price it can't be beat!

The Tribune pizza pictured at the beginning is what I ordered minus the red onions and I'll tell you more but to say it was delicious is an understatement.

Pizza Press Gusy

The guys (and I say guys because there were no gals when we were there) were all friendly, ready to please and quick to get your tummy's full of good food. As you can see by the reflection, the food prep area is all behind glass and the guys all have gloves and hats on while their prepare our meals. So we watched was they made our pizzas and adjusted them for people like me who had to have the Tribune minus the onions but oh could they throw something else on. They took it all in stride and kept the gourmet line moving. You'll have to forgive me for the reflections from the glass in the picture I couldn't adjust it so I just went with it.

I also discovered another reason that the word "press" is appropriate in the name of this restaurant and it's what they do with the dough check it out!

As you can see above they put the dough onto that round metal plate and then it gets "pressed" between the two round metal plates creating the pizza crust, it's easy and fun to watch! Look at the nice round pizza crust below, just ready and waiting for us to select our toppings to put on top of it.

There's a nice variety of toppings to select from. You can see them all HERE on their website. You can call in advance to schedule a pick up of your favorite pizza.

Here were our with our food in front us and we all just dug in right away. We even had some of the cheesy garlic bread which is also shaped like a pizza and got some yummy toppings to go with it too. They also have some salads like caesar salads. We also couldn't resist having some of their world famous orange floats and root beer floats. Those aren't beer bottles in front of the kids those are root beer ones and I got an orange float my favorite. It was so good!

Pizza Press Family Meal

The Pizza Press also has a nice selection of handcrafted beers that was appreciated by both my hubby and the other dad in our group. Not many small restaurants can provide such a tasty variety of food, that is so fresh, top quality and for such a good price. The Pizza Press does all that and more!

Pizza Press Hand Crafted Beers

Last but not least I have to mention the desserts. Despite the fact that we were stuffed we just had to try the desserts. We tried the chocolate mousse, Tiramisu and the cheescake, they were all delicious. As I mentioned earlier our personal pizzas were so big, we all ended up taking some back to our rooms and having them for lunch the next day, 2 meals for $10 is amazing, we love the Pizza Press. Everyone in our party loved absolutely everything we ate, we couldn't find a single thing to complain about. How often can you say that about a restaurant? Good food, great prize and fabulous service.

Naturally we had to take a family picture while at the Pizza Press and we had to ask Gil to join us as he had made us feel right at home. He and his crew did a wonderful job and we know not only from our experience but for the fact that every time we walked by the Pizza Press was hoping that everyone knows a good thing when they see it  taste it. Even if you're not visiting Disneyland if you're in the area you have to stop by the Pizza Press, it's totally worth it, you'll want to go back again and again! The Pizza Press gets a 5 out of 5 stars from Powered by Mom and family, for quality, service, price and just darn good tasty food! Thanks Pizza Press 🙂

  4. My husband is a pizza nut. He experiments with different dough recipes and ways to cook it. You can look in our fridge at any given time and there's some dough in the works. I'm sick of pizza!
