Space Party Birthday Theme for Kids

It's fun to plan birthday parties for kids. They were always so easy when he was a just a little boy, but now my baby is turning 10. Which means he has his own ideas for what he wants, and specific friends he wants to invite to a party. So aside from doing the typical class from school get together where everybody is invited, we decided to let him do a smaller gathering with his closest buddies at the local planetarium, since he is all about space these days. So that meant this one was going to be a space party theme.

Check out this guest post with some fun tips for planning your kiddos birthday party!

The planetarium was his idea, but taking an entire class to the planetarium would get pricey very quickly. So we compromised and are doing cake and games at the house with his class, and then the next day going to the planetarium and getting lunch with a select few of his friends. He was worried about everybody else in his class feeling like they weren't special so he wanted his class get together to stay space party themed and to still keep everybody included. So that's when I decided to make his invites through Basic Invite. They are an online stationery company that has tons of themes for birthday invitations, so I knew they would have something for a space party theme. Something else that is great about Basic invite is that nearly everything is customizable since they have over 180 custom colors and a plethora of fonts so that your invitations are truly unique.

So after playing around with party invitations for a while, I came up with the perfect space party birthday invitation, and man was it easy! The Basic Invite site was so easy to navigate! They had an entire section for kids birthday party invitations, so I decided that was a good place to start. Not only was I able to adjust almost every aspect of my birthday invitation to my liking, including the colors, and fonts, but I was able to adjust a couple of other things, making it everything I could have wanted and more. Something else that was exciting, was that with their 40 different colored envelope options, I was able to pick a color that matched the invitation, giving it that extra pop, and making it maybe just a little bit easier to not lose in a backpack. And boy was I right, everybody loved their party invitations and all the parents asked about how I made them.

  3. I'm a space and pirate fan (more Trekie than Star Wars though) and these invitations would be a blast for fun-loving adults too. Ten is a good age, before they start thinking all that is babyish!
