1. Splash Around at Aquaventure in Atlantis Resort

Aquaventure Kids Area

This non-stop aquatic thrill ride features over twenty million gallons of water, incredible Atlantean-themed towers, thrilling high-speed water slides, a mile-long river ride with rolling rapids and wave surges, 20 swimming areas, a spectacular kids water-play fort and 11 unique and refreshing swimming pools.

Swimming at Paradise Island

My son loved the kid-sized slides and play area. There were shallow pools all around it and we had so much fun just playing in the water.

Aquaventure Lazy River

My son's favorite part of Aquaventure, though, was definitely the mile-long river ride. Waves and surges propel you along the ride as you float away in a tube. It is so much fun -- we must have gone around that thing 20 times.

2. Go Back in Time to Atlantis in The Dig Sunken Ruins

The Dig at Atlantis Resort

Reflecting the tunnels and thoroughfares of the lost city of Atlantis, The Dig at Atlantis Paradise Island features over 100 venomous Indo-Pacific Ocean Lionfish, 500 piranhas, iridescent jellyfish, and six-foot Moray Eels.

Special environments hold nine species of enormous groupers, while smaller separate “Jewel Habitats” are home to multitudes of brilliantly-colored tropical fish.

Artifacts from The Lost City are on display and really immerse you in the experience. My son loved seeing all the different pieces from that time.

3. Make Chocolate at Graycliff Chocolatier Factory

Graycliff Chocolatier Factory

Tour the Graycliff Chocolatier Factory to learn how chocolate is made and become a chocolatier yourself -- creating a bar of chocolate that you get to take home!

Graycliff Chocolatier Factory

You get hands-on with ingredients from the freshest Bahamian fruit: mango, lime, coconut, sea grapes and genips; to the most savoury and unlikely: sweet tomato-basil and bacon.

We had so much fun choosing the ingredients for our chocolate bar... and, of course, sampling them! It was really neat to see how the cocoa beans are formed into chocolate -- such a fun learning experience for little ones!

4. Visit the Pirates of Nassau Museum

Pirates fo Nassau Museum

This interactive pirate experience is located in the heart of downtown Nassau. Journey back to the year 1716 to experience life as a pirate. Your adventure begins on a moonlit dock amidst the sounds of lapping water and pirates celebrating in a nearby tavern.

Board the pirate ship Revenge and enter the world of pirates, learning about their customs and getting a look at life aboard on of their ships. This was a highlight for my son!

5. Discover the Rope Bridge at the Royal Towers in Atlantis Resort

Atlantis Resort Rope Bridge

This super-fun rope bridge is a hidden gem at Atlantis Resort.

Kids can cross the swinging bridge to get a look at the swimming hammerhead shark below. At first it's terrifying... then it's thrilling! After a few minutes, my son was running up and down the bridge, no thoughts of the shark swimming below.

6. Play at the Beach

Atlantis Resort Beach

Atlantis Resort offers a beautiful beach with crystal clear water -- you won't want to miss it on your Nassau Paradise Island adventure!

The gorgeous water is perfect for snorkeling.

And, of course, parents can enjoy bar service while the children play in the sand.

7. Swim With Dolphins in Atlantis Dolphin Cay

Andrew Kissing Dolphin

This amazing, interactive experience is perfect for children of all ages. The shallow-water dolphin experience allows you to get up close to these beautiful creatures in waist-high water that even small children can stand in. Read more about our Atlantis Dolphin Cay experience here.

  9. What a joyous time you guys had! I have always wanted to visit the Bahamas & especially when they built this resort I wanted to visit even more! I love the whole adventure of the Lost City of Atlantis, & the aquariums & water park areas must be the best! the fact that relaxing the nights & days away is the only agenda is fine by me! When the hurricane was going through the Atlantic & going towards the Atlantis, they had a weather man there to ride out the hurricane. He talked with many people who's only options were to hunker down & ride out the crazy hurricane! Thank God everyone made it out alive. 🙂
