I was the recipient of a Pay It Forward 2 years ago while school supply shopping at walmart. A woman walked up to me & handed me a walmart gift card and said “please use this to pay for your kids school supplies.”

I work at a high school and one of the girls is pregnant. Her and her boyfriend didn’t have money to buy her a bunch of maternity clothes. I had one of those belly bandits (I think that’s what they are called that go over your belly and the top of your pants so you can continue to wear your regular pants) that I wasn’t using, so I gave it to her.

I pay-it-forward as much as I can for Single Moms…
As a single mom with a young baby and using public transportation, I always appreciated a helping hand when I was offered by someone to carry the stroller onto the bus or give up their seat so that I may sit down with my child.
Now, I am the one volunteering to help the single mom with her things onto the bus.

As a single mom of 4 girls it has become really hard to help others around Christmas. So I found away to use my gift with photo taking and did mini photo shoots in exchange for a wrapped gift for a family in need. I ended up helping 3 families this year and it felt so great:) I also signed up for gerber coupons and I use those to get the items and pass those along because I do not have a baby any more:) Ever bit helps when paying it forward:)

While my son was in elementary school, we were to take a trip to the zoo. I was a chaperone. I was in the library speaking to the librarian, when a woman approached her to speak. She explained to the librarian that her son would not be going on the trip, because she didn’t have the money. After she walked away, I told the librarian that I would pay for her son to go. The librarian went to the woman and told her, then they both came back to me in tears! The woman thanked me profusely, and to this day, that school has a fund especially for those that cannot afford these trips. I donated the original funding of $100, and others have kept it alive since !!!

a couple months ago I was at CVS and there was a man there that was questioning prices on different items in front of me in line and it was because his apt was in a fire the night before and he had no basic toiletries, he was even going to buy a womens razor because it was cheaper. He didnt have enough money to pay for it all. I told him to put all that stuff away and I would bring it all to the hotel his apt manager provided for him ( I have all that stuff in my stockpile of course). So within a couple hours I went to the hotel and dropped off two bags full of stuff for him. He was sooo thankful and thats just one of the reasons I love to coupon! I can help not only my family but even strangers that can use a little help! 🙂

i was once walking into a grocery store when i saw a homeless man. he was looking in garbage cans and on ground. he found a ketsup packet on the ground, opened it and ate the ketsup out of it. he was obviously starving,,,desperate for even a small morsel of food.
i went in store to get what i needed and picked up a sandwich, bag of chips and a soda. i handed the bag to the man. he opened it and imediately took a bite. he smiled and said thank you.
i couldnt imagine ever being that desperate for food and was happy to help him out.
    🙂 THANKS!! 🙂

It was a small thing, but I was in Walmart and there were long lines at the register. I was next in line to check out, but the woman behind me was seemed very stressed. She had a baby who was crying and another toddler pulling her this way and that. Her cart was full. I too had a lot of stuff to check out with, but she really seemed like she needed a break so I offered her my place in line. She pointed out how many items she had in her cart and I said that it was ok, that she could go ahead of me. I put my items back in the cart and let her go ahead of me. It made me smile and feel good and I hope it did the same for her.

As a social worker I worked with needy families on a regular basis. Observing a need and finding a way to help them fill it was always satisfying. I often paid out of pocket for items and donated it to the family, telling them it was donated to our office for needy families. I didn’t need the thanks or recognition, but seeing the relief and gratitude on their face made it so worth the cost to me. :0)

I had just walked away from my home and all my possessions due to domestic violence. I was not working at the time and very low on money. There was a homeless man asking everyone in the drive-thru line for a sausage sandwich. He was very polite and only wanted a sandwich. I saw him ask over 6 cars and everyone just shook their head at him. He never asked me so I called him over to my car and ask him what he would like. He almost started crying and said I’m so hungry I will take anything but I really want a sausage sandwich. I told him I would buy any meal of his choice. He would have been happy with someones trash but was overjoyed that he could have whatever he chose. I met him on the other side of the drive thru with his food and a few bucks stuffed in the bag. He didn’t open the bag in front of me but I can only smile imagining his response because he was so thankful for what was in front of him.

    Ack, I wasn’t done!

I’m trying to make sure I show appreciation for things people do for me, so they know I’m really thankful.

I left my dad’s garage door opener in my car that was totaled and taken by the insurance company. As soon as I realized I called the car mortuary and the girl on the phone was so extremely helpful. I’m sure they get calls like this all the time, but she took my name and number, tracked down the garage door opener and called me back. I couldn’t get there till about 15 minutes after they closed, she offered to stay for me, and I was able to pick it up.

I was so thankful, and I wanted her to know how much I appreciated her going out of the way for me. I baked her some cookies, and took them to her the next day. She was so appreciative and said no one ever says thank you like that, and they made her day. I also made sure to contact her boss and let her know what a great employee she had.

It was winter in MN, we were having a few drinks at our local Applebees and a homeless man (someone we see all the time who sleeps under a pass way) was sitting at the bar (to warm up). The manager was going to kick him out unless he purchased something. We gave him $10 for whatever he wanted to order and 1/2 pack of cigs, we left before he did. I bet he sat there until they closed.

It teaches them alot of life lessons and gives them inspiration to do their own paying it forward in the future. My daughter recently spent time volunteering at an overseas orphanage. She debated about extending her stay, but realized she would have to pay a penalty to change her flight, money she thought would go to better use at the orphanage. The director told her that any time she could be spent with the kids would be more valuable than any amount of money. So she payed the airline’s penalty and extended her stay. She and the kids were the richer for it, thank to the wise orphanage director.

Sharing coupons at the grocery store. Best time was when there was this couple having a discussion in the toy aisle around Christmas on how they could not afford much of anything for their son, and they were trying to pick out a couple things so he would have something under the tree. I gave them a bunch of BayBlade, PlayDou, Transformers, Nerf and Hasbro coupons. They were so happy, I could tell the dad was trying to hold back tears.

When I was young and having children, my husband and I were in the military and moving around. I never really had a chance to get to know other women and never had a baby shower or anything like that, so it was up to us to get what we needed for the arrival of our children. Just lately one of the men at work just had a little baby girl, their first child and his wife lost her job prior to learning she was pregnant because the place where she work was laying off it’s workers. They’ve been having a tough time for awhile trying to make it on one paycheck. So as a way to pay it forward (for not having anyone help me) I decided to go out and fill two big boxes just full of baby stuff from the dollar stores and anywheres I could find that had necessary stuff they needed and filled them up. I included tons of coupons also for free formula, diapers and alot of other stuff. I also made another box of stuff for things they as parents would need also. Deodorant, razors and anything extra I had in my stash, including food to help them with the cost of the new baby and not being able to afford a whole lot. Their hugs and tears were the best thank you I could have ever gotten. It just felt good.

Recently my (young) daughter gave birth to a son. She is 18 yrs old, and still in high school. We don’t have much as far as things go, nor do we have much money, I’ve been unemployed for awhile now, so things are getting tighter.
Anyways, I received a call from a friend, who lives in our town, about a garage sale near her home. We immediately hopped in the car to check out whatever baby stuff they had left over.
The people had been sitting outside all morning and afternoon and had so much stuff left over, so they gave it all to us! Yes GAVE it to us!
Our little grandson has a beautiful Pier One crib with a matching rocking chair with ottoman. We took home 2 infant car seats, a stroller, a high chair, two baby swings, two pack and play yards, and a butt-load of baby clothes!

Now, mind you, this was well before we had a shower for her. At the shower she received a swing, a high chair, two car seats, baby clothes, and a changing table to match the crib.

Wondering what we did with all the other stuff we had??? We donated it to a young lady, who is in more dire straits than we are. She is expecting within the month.

Paying it forward one person at a time!

I gave one to my friend and the other two were for 20% off total purchase, so I took my time, walking around looking for the 2 with most items in their bag and offered them each a coupon. One lady was like “WOW I’ve never had anyone give me anything, and my 3 daughters all wanted Bath and Body works this year” I said, Merry christmas! She was gleaming with joy when I walked away.

At Thanksgiving a church came to my door, having heard I was having financial difficulty, with the complete fixings for a thanksgiving dinner. Turkey, fixings, etc. But I already had plans for dinner at family’s house, so I sent them across the street to a family that doesn’t have much and is currently housing a bunch of kids due some parent issues. I figured they needed it more than me as I already had a place to go and food to eat.

A couple years ago at Thanksgiving time, a woman was in line in front of me at walmart. She had all the stuff for her Thanksgiving dinner PLUS stuff for her little boy’s 6th birthday. When the cashier rang it up, she didn’t have enough money and was starting to take things off. She took all the birthday stuff off and still was a bit to much. She got flustered and ran to the bathroom. The cashier was about to throw a fit because she had run off. I put the birthday stuff back onto the belt and told the cashier to ring it up. She did and I paid for it all. When the lady came out of the bathroom, I rolled her cart to her and told her Happy Thanksgiving. She cried and kept saying thank you thank you.

I could not let her put all the cake and toys for her baby away. He was going to have the best birthday ever!! And I sure hope he did!!!

Oh yes it's getting to be that time of the year wh Oh yes it's getting to be that time of the year where we'll start spending more time outside enjoying the weather, grilling and the longer days of light and so much more. ☀️⛱ SponsoredI may have gotten a head start as we went camping for the first time this year and this really reminded me of how I love to sit outside and enjoy a good campfire or one in our firepit in our backyard and enjoying the quiet of the evening and stars twinkling in the night sky. 🌠⭐It also brings up memories of good food, grilled food my favourite kind with all those fun and delicious marinades, rubs and sauces to dress up and enhance the flavour of your food. Stay tuned for my upcoming recipe that has a delicious and creamy lemon sauce with chicken cooked in a #castiron pan. 🍋🍳I've teamed up with @ChickenDotCA to give one lucky winner an Outdoor Wood Burning Round Cooking Pit for the month of April. The puppies in the other photos were also rescued by 3LP and I believe they've all found furever homes. 🏡💖😻https://www.powered-by-mom.com/how-to-help-your-local-pet-rescue/#ThreeLittlePittiesSavingKitties #TexasCats #TexasRescu #rescuedog #rescuecats #rescuekitty #rescuekittens #rescuecatsofinstagram #rescuedogsofinstagram #rescuedogs #rescuedogsrock #rescuedogsarethebest #rescuedogofinstagram #rescuedogsarethebestdogs #ilovemyrescuedog #rescuedogmom #rescuecatmom #rescuedoglife #adoptarescuedog #rescuedoglove #rescuedoggy #rescuedogsarebest #lovemyrescuedog #rescuecatlove #HelpAPetRescue #HelpAnimals
