$25 Amazon GC Brighten Someone’s Day {2 winners} Giveaway

This story is shared by one of Powered by Mom’s blogger friends who also contributed to this great prize!

I was recently in the doctor’s office waiting to be seen when an elderly man walked up the the reception window. It was his first time there, and the receptionist handed him a stack of paperwork to complete. He looked bewildered. He asked if he could just answer the questions to the receptionist. She told him to have a seat and work his way through the papers. He shuffled over to a chair. I was checking my email, but watched him as he sat staring into space. Just then, another patient asked, “Could I help you with that?” “What do you mean?” he answered. “I could ask you the questions and write them down for you.” she said. I thought the man was going to cry as he handed her the paperwork. As I watched her walk him through the questions, I thought, “Why didn’t I ask that question?” Someone dropped him off. He didn’t have a friend. Now he did.

Do you treasure your friends? Watching this interaction unfold made me think about how busy I get, and how I forget to tell my friends how much I treasure them.

I have the best friends, and many of them are in this group of amazing bloggers! We wanted to do something different and special for National Friendship Month. If you win this $25 Amazon gift card, you will also win another to give to a friend! How fun is that?

My teen daughter read to me when I was having a severe flare of my illness. I was in bed for almost a week. She read ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ to me. She is 16 and I am certain she would have rather been doing something else.

I have been struggling since my husband passed away, roof had been leaking for awhile and I put pans and buckets around to catch the water. My neighbor came down one evening to visit and it was raining and she seen the mess. 2 weeks later her husband and his workers came and put on a new roof. That not only brighten my day but still does to this day.

When one of my sisters came to help me out while my husband was away at training, we were talking about how I’d never taken a bath in the house that we’d lived in for 2 years. She and another sister pitched in and bought me a bunch of spa stuff and she took care of my daughter so I could take a bath and relax. Love my sisters!

The nicest thing that happened to me occurred at 3 separate times – the first a woman gave me comfort at a very horrible time of my life; the second was immediately after the first lady, my Mom dropped everything and flew cross country to be with me at this horrible time, and the third was at a time when I was struggling financially, struggling to keep my twins in utero and struggling to keep food on the table and a lady appeared out of nowhere and offered my Mom a mini van full of food – it literally fed us for a month. So, if I would win, I would give the giftcards to my Mom since I cannot find the other 2 people, still to this day – almost 8 years later.

Our neighbor built us temporary steps when our porch fell apart and my husband fell and broke his leg and couldn’t work on the new porch. We were using a small step ladder to get in and out of the front door which was difficult for my husband in a boot/crutches and the neighbor showed up with some really nice steps. It was a blessing!

When I lost my job due to PTSD, my dad came over to leave a care package at the door for me and my daughter who was 15 at the time.He didn’t try to ring the bell because he knew we wouldn’t answer it,but I will always remember that. Seeing him walking back to his truck with his baseball cap on.I love my parents so very much.

I think that the nicest thing that I can remember someone ever doing for me is when my mom offered to watch my children for a week so that my husband and I could take a trip together.

Oh yes it's getting to be that time of the year wh Oh yes it's getting to be that time of the year where we'll start spending more time outside enjoying the weather, grilling and the longer days of light and so much more. ☀️⛱ SponsoredI may have gotten a head start as we went camping for the first time this year and this really reminded me of how I love to sit outside and enjoy a good campfire or one in our firepit in our backyard and enjoying the quiet of the evening and stars twinkling in the night sky. 🌠⭐It also brings up memories of good food, grilled food my favourite kind with all those fun and delicious marinades, rubs and sauces to dress up and enhance the flavour of your food. Stay tuned for my upcoming recipe that has a delicious and creamy lemon sauce with chicken cooked in a #castiron pan. 🍋🍳I've teamed up with @ChickenDotCA to give one lucky winner an Outdoor Wood Burning Round Cooking Pit for the month of April. We took both of our dogs with us and we think we broke them 😆 #CleoTheDog & #NyxTheDog were both soooo tired by around 8:30pm each night that they would go to our trailer door & look at ys waiting to be let in 😁 while we continued to enjoy our campfire 🔥It was great to unplug there is no cell service let alone internet where we go so we enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We are lucky to live in #BeautifulBC. We share tips on how you can help an animal rescue whether in person or from home with help from the experts at an animal rescue that I volunteer with. *Sponsored* 💕♥️One tip is to donate supplies. 🪀🐈🐩Right now it's kitten season and the rescue I work with the cat department @threelittlepittiesrescue we're being asked to rescue mamas with kittens and kittens without mamas where we need milk replacement like the one from @tailspring which is goats milk based 🐐🍼We had some kittens try it out and they LOVED it! 🐱Check out these tips now by going to the smart.bio/poweredbymom link in our profile where you can find this article and more! 🐈In case you're wondering yes this photo of a mama cat and her kittens are actual kitties that 3LP has taken into their program. 🐱🐈‍⬛ They're not yet available for adoption as the kittens are too young and still need mama. The puppies in the other photos were also rescued by 3LP and I believe they've all found furever homes. 🏡💖😻https://www.powered-by-mom.com/how-to-help-your-local-pet-rescue/#ThreeLittlePittiesSavingKitties #TexasCats #TexasRescu #rescuedog #rescuecats #rescuekitty #rescuekittens #rescuecatsofinstagram #rescuedogsofinstagram #rescuedogs #rescuedogsrock #rescuedogsarethebest #rescuedogofinstagram #rescuedogsarethebestdogs #ilovemyrescuedog #rescuedogmom #rescuecatmom #rescuedoglife #adoptarescuedog #rescuedoglove #rescuedoggy #rescuedogsarebest #lovemyrescuedog #rescuecatlove #HelpAPetRescue #HelpAnimals
