$25 Amazon GC Brighten Someone’s Day {2 winners} Giveaway
This story is shared by one of Powered by Mom’s blogger friends who also contributed to this great prize!
I was recently in the doctor’s office waiting to be seen when an elderly man walked up the the reception window. It was his first time there, and the receptionist handed him a stack of paperwork to complete. He looked bewildered. He asked if he could just answer the questions to the receptionist. She told him to have a seat and work his way through the papers. He shuffled over to a chair. I was checking my email, but watched him as he sat staring into space. Just then, another patient asked, “Could I help you with that?” “What do you mean?” he answered. “I could ask you the questions and write them down for you.” she said. I thought the man was going to cry as he handed her the paperwork. As I watched her walk him through the questions, I thought, “Why didn’t I ask that question?” Someone dropped him off. He didn’t have a friend. Now he did.

The nicest thing that happened to me occurred at 3 separate times – the first a woman gave me comfort at a very horrible time of my life; the second was immediately after the first lady, my Mom dropped everything and flew cross country to be with me at this horrible time, and the third was at a time when I was struggling financially, struggling to keep my twins in utero and struggling to keep food on the table and a lady appeared out of nowhere and offered my Mom a mini van full of food – it literally fed us for a month. So, if I would win, I would give the giftcards to my Mom since I cannot find the other 2 people, still to this day – almost 8 years later.
