5 Halloween Family Activities

in Children, Family, Family and Home on 10/18/15

Have some Family Fun with these 5 Halloween Family Activities!

Do you need some ideas for things to do for Halloween?

Halloween is just around the corner which means scary costumes, cool weather, and lots and lots of yummy delicious treats! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays and times of year in general! I love to have fun with my friends and family and Halloween is a great time of year to do some really fun activities with your family! Here are just a few things I like to do with my family during the Halloween season to make the holiday more of a family holiday!

Graveyard

Make Your Own Costumes

Costumes are so expensive these days! By the time that you buy the clothing, accessories, and even your wigs you could spend up to $100 a costume and if you have multiple kids, that can break the bank just for a night of fun! It is much cheaper and more fun to make your own costumes! You can get fabric, cut up old clothes you don’t wear anymore and then just buy some simple accessories to go along with your costumes!

Trick or Treating

Instead of just sending your kids out on their own to trick or treat, go with them! Make it a bonding experience. You can even dress up yourself and join in on the fun! Maybe they will even share their candy with you! LOL  You can go with them and experience all the scares with them, it will make them more comfortable and you can spend an evening of fun with the family!

Do you have a talent for decorating cupcakes? Here are some fun ones that a friend of mine created. I do NOT have such a talent.

halloween cupcakes

Haunted Houses

If you have an older group of kiddos you could skip the trick or treating and go for some Haunted Houses! You can be there for each other through all the scares and help each other survive the terror! I am a big fan and proponent of Haunted Houses they’re a great way to celebrate Halloween after you’ve grown out of trick or treating! There are a ton of really great haunted houses all over the country, you can hit up the big haunted houses that are a huge attraction or you could even look for locally made ones that may be located in your very own neighborhood!

Make or bake some fun treats

Aside from all of the candy, I like to make some fun treats like these Bat Sugar Cookies you can see our recipe HERE. Another fun one is candy apples!  You can make them with caramel, chocolate, candy, add whatever toppings you would like and everyone can have their own individual kind of Apple! It’s a great way to spend time together and have a yummy treat to follow! I love to dip my apples in peanut butter coating and then add crushed up Oreos, absolutely delicious!

How about our Dirt Pudding or our RIP Brownies shown below? Both fun and yummy.

You can also make Halloween themed appetizers like this fun spinach dip one!

Throw/Attend a Halloween party

Halloween parties are so much fun! Whether you’re throwing one or just simply attending, this is a great way to spend time with your family! Use my first tip and make your own costumes and then all go have a really great time at a fun Halloween Themed party!

There you go, here is a few things to make the Halloween season a bit more family oriented! Have fun and be together!

Thanks for the Fantastic Review on 5 Halloween Family Activities! We used to decorate outside like you have done (by the way, it looks great!) however with hectic schedules and not giving out “treats” anymore, we just put a few things out. I always make sure to make the kids costumes with a box of all kind of things in it (wigs, capes, snakes, rats, witches hats, old costumes, etc) and go with the flow of what the kids want to do! I always go out with the kids. I love walking around with them from house to house. I’d like to have a Halloween party, by the time I actually thought about it, it was too late to invite people! Maybe next year! Thanks so much for sharing your fantastic review, the terrific pictures, and your personal and professional opinions on 5 Halloween Family Activities with all of us! I honestly do appreciate it! Thanks again so much! Michele 🙂

Oh yes it's getting to be that time of the year wh Oh yes it's getting to be that time of the year where we'll start spending more time outside enjoying the weather, grilling and the longer days of light and so much more. ☀️⛱ SponsoredI may have gotten a head start as we went camping for the first time this year and this really reminded me of how I love to sit outside and enjoy a good campfire or one in our firepit in our backyard and enjoying the quiet of the evening and stars twinkling in the night sky. 🌠⭐It also brings up memories of good food, grilled food my favourite kind with all those fun and delicious marinades, rubs and sauces to dress up and enhance the flavour of your food. Stay tuned for my upcoming recipe that has a delicious and creamy lemon sauce with chicken cooked in a #castiron pan. 🍋🍳I've teamed up with @ChickenDotCA to give one lucky winner an Outdoor Wood Burning Round Cooking Pit for the month of April. We took both of our dogs with us and we think we broke them 😆 #CleoTheDog & #NyxTheDog were both soooo tired by around 8:30pm each night that they would go to our trailer door & look at ys waiting to be let in 😁 while we continued to enjoy our campfire 🔥It was great to unplug there is no cell service let alone internet where we go so we enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We are lucky to live in #BeautifulBC. We share tips on how you can help an animal rescue whether in person or from home with help from the experts at an animal rescue that I volunteer with. *Sponsored* 💕♥️One tip is to donate supplies. 🪀🐈🐩Right now it's kitten season and the rescue I work with the cat department @threelittlepittiesrescue we're being asked to rescue mamas with kittens and kittens without mamas where we need milk replacement like the one from @tailspring which is goats milk based 🐐🍼We had some kittens try it out and they LOVED it! 🐱Check out these tips now by going to the smart.bio/poweredbymom link in our profile where you can find this article and more! 🐈In case you're wondering yes this photo of a mama cat and her kittens are actual kitties that 3LP has taken into their program. 🐱🐈‍⬛ They're not yet available for adoption as the kittens are too young and still need mama. The puppies in the other photos were also rescued by 3LP and I believe they've all found furever homes. 🏡💖😻https://www.powered-by-mom.com/how-to-help-your-local-pet-rescue/#ThreeLittlePittiesSavingKitties #TexasCats #TexasRescu #rescuedog #rescuecats #rescuekitty #rescuekittens #rescuecatsofinstagram #rescuedogsofinstagram #rescuedogs #rescuedogsrock #rescuedogsarethebest #rescuedogofinstagram #rescuedogsarethebestdogs #ilovemyrescuedog #rescuedogmom #rescuecatmom #rescuedoglife #adoptarescuedog #rescuedoglove #rescuedoggy #rescuedogsarebest #lovemyrescuedog #rescuecatlove #HelpAPetRescue #HelpAnimals
