We usually invite a group of friends over for an Easter Sunday “Brunch” ~ I use “quotation marks” because while we serve some breakfasty dishes (we do it all family/buffet style and everyone brings their own Easter special favorites so we kind of get to share traditions.)

My Honey/Hubby is very stubborn about keeping his with his “roots” so on top of all the other goodies HE always make a Roast Leg of Lamb with garlic & rosemary, new baby yellow potatoes, asparagus and RUTABEGA!

I don’t do anything on Easter. I hope it’s rainy. I know I sound like an old grouch but we live right across the street from a church and they have an egg hunt. The kids get really noisy and whenever they have a church function, although they have have a large lot, people think they can park in my yard. And the kids throw paper plates and cups on the ground, which I have to clean up. So yes, maybe I am a bit of an old grouch!

At movie time the kids bring in there baskets to share. The homemade candies are the best. After the movie the desert table is set. It’s really a beautiful day.

Instagram post 2194172479090354467_502869795 I am #grateful for wonderful friendships. They may live thousands of miles away all over the United States (I am in Canada) but as they have proved you don't have to be in close proximity to keep up friendships & support each other. They sent my family and I these beautiful flowers to cheer us up from the loss of our beloved Apollo. #friendsfarandwide #friendships @topnotchblog @susanlbewley @missmollysays @kriskohale @styledecor @simplysherrylblog @foodwinesunshine hugs ladies
Instagram post 2187378363463484823_502869795 It is with great sadness and through tears that I write that we just lost our beloved Apollo. He was hit by a car and didn't make it. We've never lost a pet this way and so early, all of them had been with us for 10 years or more, Apollo was only with us for over a year. He was a special boy, so sweet and crazy at the same time, such a character. We are all beyond devastated, especially my husband as we lost our beloved Luna (she was 15 years old & his constant companion like Apollo) just this past February, to make it even harder he had to go back to work right after losing Apollo this morning.I'm sharing this horrible news because I will be offline for the rest of the week as we try to deal with this loss and our emotions.I like to think that Luna, Little Zeus, Juno and Zeus are all welcoming Apollo over the Rainbow Ridge even though it was far too soon for him to go.

Did you know it was a Canadian soldier who wrote In Flanders Field (see author's name below)? ************** In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
