Well, when my mother had only a few grays, she ignored them, or combed her hair so you couldn’t see them. Later, she started using hair color–initially, she went to a salon, but since gray roots were visible within a month, it was cost prohibitive. Then she switched to coloring it at home. As the texture eventually changed and she grew worried about the chemicals used, I convinced her that using henna and indigo was a good idea, and she’s never looked back. She has beautiful, healthy henna-dyed hair now.

I deal with gray hairs (not very well obviously) by coloring my hair at home. I cannot afford to get it done professionally. I’m middle aged and started getting my first grays around age 30, and I just think my grays make me look older than I really am, so for at least the next several years, I will continue to color.
