Adding Plant-Based Protein to Your Diet

Adding Plant-Based Protein to Your Diet

Whether you are a thorough omnivore or rely upon plants to completely fill your diet, there is no harm in adding extra protein to what you eat. These Mightly Lil Lentils make it super easy to add plant-based protein to your diet in a healthy and incredibly tasty way. I was blown away. I never thought I would enjoy eating lentils at snack time, but I do!

Crispy Plant-Based Protein

Adding Plant-Based Protein to Your Diet

When I first saw these packets of lentils I had assumed they would be cooked up in a pot as a sort of side dish. A sort of flavored mushy bean-like dish. And while these little beans are incredibly yummy with their different flavors, they are a crisp and crunchy snack.

Snack Time

Adding Plant-Based Protein to Your Diet

My kids love eating these. The BBQ flavor reminds them of BBQ potato chips, but they are a lot healthier. My daughter has requested the cinnamon sugar flavored ones for dessert multiple times this week. It is easy for me to keep a bag on my desk and grab a small handful to snack on when I’m feeling peckish.

Not Just a Snack

Adding Plant-Based Protein to Your Diet

Like using nuts or sesame seeds, I love tossing these onto my salads. They add a delicious crunch and tasty flavor and the Sea Salt and Falafel flavors are my favorites for salads. If I add enough I don’t even need salad dressing. Seapoint Farms, the creators of Mighty Lil Lentils, suggests even adding them to your favorite beverages, trail mixes, morning granola or oatmeal, and more!

Healthy Alternative

Adding Plant-Based Protein to Your Diet

A full serving of these lentils is only about a quarter cup. In that tiny amount, you get 5g of plant-based protein, 5g of fiber, plus potassium, iron, calcium, and more. All for around 150 calories! They are certified GMO-free by the NON-GMO Project, half of the varieties are considered totally vegan, and all of them are totally gluten-free. Plus they are a totally sustainable crop.

My New Go-To Snack and Meal Additive

Adding Plant-Based Protein to Your Diet

I really am using these tasty lentils whenever and wherever I can. The powerful flavors make a great snack or tasty addition to most of my meals. I love knowing I’m getting a lot of flavor in a tiny, but healthy package. I also love knowing I can get these quickly with iHerb or on iHerb with my usual vitamins and supplements. Plus, they have other tasty things to try like their Edamame! I used to think of lentils as a bland, boring, mushy side dish. Now I love these tasty crunchy snacks.

That cinnamon sugar sounds really good I love the mixed flavors so I would be excited to try that. I think the plant based protein is something I want to put more and more into my diet.

I love lentils, and making them into a snack is genius. Putting them on salads adds flavor and the crunch you crave.

I do have to eat more Plant-Based Protein since I do not eat meat. I do enjoy Lentils very much and usually make lentil soup. So I would definitely enjoy trying Mightly Lil Lentils.

I like having crunchy snacks like these around that are healthy choices. They sound good on their own or maybe added to a salad.
