I have to admit this was one of the easiest and tastiest reviews that I have done as I'm not a milk drinker and already love Almond milk. However, for some reason I had not yet tried Almond Fresh so that was a nice new experience for me. I love having almond milk in my cereal, smoothies and more and now that I've tried Almond Fresh I can honestly say it's the yummiest almond milk that I have tasted. I have never purchased the refrigerated almond milk since in the past most of the time I was the only one drinking it I thought it would expire before I finished drinking it. That was not the case during my review as I came to realize how much I now use almond milk and now my husband and daughter drink more of it too. They mostly have it in the smoothies I make for them but now I do see them reaching for it for other things like their cereal. My daughter loves the chocolate almond fresh I generally have the unsweetened as I drink a healthy smoothie every day with almond milk in it and the banana I put it makes it sweet enough so I don't have to have the sweetened version which is low in calories, fat and carbs of course 🙂

I also tried out a new smoothie recipe that I found on the Earth's Own website and that was the Almond Fresh Chocolate Banana smoothie, talk about yummy! Here's the recipe:

(1 serving)

1 cup Almond Fresh Original, Vanilla or Unsweetened (I used the chocolate almond fresh instead)
1 medium banana — quartered
2 tablespoon chocolate syrup (skipped the syrup since I used chocolate Almond Fresh)
3 ice cubes

1. Purée all the ingredients in a blender until smooth.
2. Pour into a glass and serve at once.

Talk about super easy to make and oh so tasty. I also added flax seed to mine to get an extra boost of nutrition, I love flax seed so to me it was very good indeed. I want to try this smoothie out next and they say it's for breakfast wow, looks like dessert to me. Doesn't it look absolutely delicious?

Of course almond milk has a nutty flavour to it but I don't find it to be strong and I quite like the taste, I prefer it to milk especially since I've never been a big milk drinker anyways. There are also several benefits to almond milk due to the almonds of course such as being low fat & cholesterol free (did you know that I didn't until recently), fantastic source of calcium, vitamin D & E and the vitamin E found in almonds (alpha-tocophenol) is apparently the most easily absorbed antioxidant know. Wow I had no idea, I just knew that I liked almond milk and that it was healthy but after researching more about it for my review I found just how many benefits almond milk possesses.

I also love  and I mean LOVE the newest Almond Fresh flavour and that is coconut! Oh my is it ever yummy of course I love coconut so it was a sure thing that I would love it. It also got me thinking about all sorts of recipes I could create with it. One of I did recently which no surprise was a smoothie was coconut Almond Fresh, cocoa, flaxseed and half a banana (for 1 serving) it was like dessert but healthy!
Overall Almond Fresh gets 5 out of 5 stars from Powered by Mom for yummy taste, being packed full of good stuff and last but not least a family favourite!

  5. I would like to try the chocolate. The chocolate almond milk I have in the fridge has no sweetener. I confess I have to add some stevia drops to drink it straight.
