Remember to be prepared not just for you and your family but your pets too. When disaster strikes you want to do whatever you can for all your family members.
August 23rd marked the 10 year anniversary of the most devastating hurricane to his the United States, Hurricane Katrina. Hurricane Katrina killed nearly 2,000 people, left 600,000 pets deceased or homeless. Almost half (44%) of the people who refused to evacuate during Hurricane Katrina said they did so because they felt they could not bring their animals with them. Despite this tragedy, recent poll shows that 35% of pet owners still don’t have plans in place for the next big storm. Are you ready for the unexpected? While you can never be completely ready, you can take steps to prepare for a natural disaster for you and your pets. I am encouraging pet owners to pledge to prepare for their pets in the event of a natural disaster.

I pledged using the name I comment with. I have lots of pets, and while I have a plan in my head, I need to put it to paper and gather the correct items needed and keep them together.
I have taken the Pledge! Where I go they go, my canines. Even when we had a bad fire, and our house burned down they all came along also. I rescued my Sebastian Bach and Lady Pyra from the pound when they were just a few weeks old.. They are now 12 human years old. Same with my felines, They knew and we called them by name and my felines knew we were going to safety. This is my rule of thumb. I was wondering your emergency kits I would like to say I think there is no time like the present to be prepared. And that I appreciate all of you for saving as many lives as you can or deemed possible. Thank You! <3
