The Dolphins at Atlantis Dolphin Cay

An amazing experience with the majestic dolphins at Atlantis Dolphin Cay

My favorite part of our trip to Nassau Paradise Island was meeting the dolphins at Atlantis Dolphin Cay. Traveling with my four-year-old son often means that we can't do a lot of the excursions because he is too young. But the shallow-water interaction at Dolphin Cay was perfect for us!

Atlantis Dolphin Cay
The beach at Dolphin Cay is stunning. There is a shallow shelf where you stand for the shallow-water interactions, and then a deep drop off where you can swim with the dolphins.

During the shallow-water interaction, you join a playful Atlantic Bottlenose Dolphin in waist-high water for an extraordinary experience you’ll never forget!

Shallow-Water Dolphin Interaction

Limited to just 10 guests per dolphin, this amazing dolphin interaction begins with an orientation and includes a 30-minute in-water interaction. A personal photographer assigned to the group; wetsuits, personal lockers and beach towels are provided.

This family favorite is open to guests of all ages and swimming abilities. Children 3 years old and under are free with a paid adult. Children ages 10 and under will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian participating with them in the shallow water.

Arena and Andrew with Dolphin
You get to pose for photos with the dolphin -- I just love this one of me and my son. We'll never forget this amazing adventure!

You really get to be up-close and personal with the animals. You get to pet the dolphins, learn hand signals and ask it to do behaviors, feed the dolphin, and we even got to touch its teeth!

Andrew Kissing Dolphin
And, of course, we had to get a photo kissing the dolphin.

I was so impressed by my little guy's bravery! He just went right up to the dolphin and laid one on him! It was so funny, and a memory that I will treasure forever.

Group Photo Dolphins in Back

Our group had adults and children of all ages, and everyone did great in this dolphin interaction program. I loved that we didn't have to wear life jackets because the water was so shallow.

After your interaction is complete, you can purchase photos from the experience at the gift shop. It does take a while for the photos to be available, but they are so worth it! I think our photographer captured some great shots from our time in the water.

This activity is one you can't miss when visiting Nassau Paradise Island.

Thanks to the Nassau Paradise Island Promotion Board for hosting us on our Caribbean adventure!

  16. It's so weird. I lI've by the beach for years but I've not done something this interactive. I'm thankful I've seen dolphins in the ocean. And a whale show. But this looks like a really fun experience.
