I selected Rockin Body because I love Shaun T. and his workout routines. I've already tried and still use his Hip Hop Abs set that I've had for at least a year now but I needed to be able to switch it up a bit with some new routines so this was a perfect one to try. Rockin Body has a variety of routines (see below) that target your whole body not just your abs! It's has great music, they are easy to follow and for those of us with knee problems it's all standing work outs so no planks, crunching or anything on the floor besides dancing that is some great exercising!

Rockin Body

If you don't know this about me let me share this as it's important I think, I have wrist and knee damage due to my arthritis and as such I have to be careful with the exercises I choose to do. So planks are out as is anything requiring me to lean on my wrists or moves where you're on the floor with pressure on your knees. Well with Rockin Body I can do every single routine, but I will admit some of them I'm still trying to master the moves without looking like a ragdoll :). I have found them all to be a good cardio workout as I'm a little breathless and definitely sweaty after exercising. I regularly work out 3-4x/week if I'm not sidetracked by being a mom which means dealing with colds and flus this time of the year 🙂 I'm not a newbie I would say I'm a moderate exerciser but I think a newbie could definitely do these, it might just take you a few times to learn the moves.

Here are the routines that are included with this set, my favorite is the Rock It Out for a more intense workout followed by Part Express when I'm limited on time but still want to fit in a good workout.
  • Mark, Move & Groove
Shaun will have you dancing and sweating with his breakthrough Mark It and Move It technique. (15 minutes)
  • Disco Groove
Hit the dance floor and shake your groove thing in this off-the-hook workout guaranteed to burn some serious calories. (35 minutes)
  • Party Express
Give Shaun 25 minutes and he guarantees a workout—without sacrificing results! (25 minutes)
  • Shaun T's Dance Party
It's a calorie-burning dance party in your living. (45 minutes)
  • Rock It Out
This rock-and-roll strength routine with shape, sculpt, and tone your new lean body from head to toe while it sends your metabolism soaring. (45 minutes)
Overall Rockin Body gets a 5 out of 5 stars from me for being fun while still giving you the workout you need, variety you can choose your level for the day from quick but effective to more intense, easy to learn and it's a great price only $19.95! Trust me you will have fun and won't be worrying about how you look besides it's about getting ourselves into shape and being healthy so I don't care how I look while working out since I'm doing it from the comfort of my own home 🙂

Yoga Booty Ballet

I have been wanting to do more yoga as it great for muscle strengthening, elongating the muscles, balance and so much more! So I thought Yoga Booty Ballet would be perfect to try out as I did 10 years of ballet in my youth and I know it's excellent also for muscle toning, balance and so much more so I thought what a perfect combination!
Now the first time I tried one of these workouts I was feeling kind of tired and thought to myself I'll take it easy and do Yoga Booty Ballet and just do some stretching, slow more peaceful moves right? Well yes there is stretching and at first it seems like it's slow movements but about 15 minutes in I started to feel the workout! The moves really target certain areas and you start to notice right away, very effective! It made me realize how my balance was nowhere near as good as it used to be with some of the ballet moves. It was definitely time to start working on this some more and even by the end of a 40 minute workout I started to notice the difference!

Now I can say that for some of the yoga moves if you have wrist or knee problems like I do you might not be able to do all of them. For example I can't always do upward and downward dog and some of the alpine moves because they mostly involve putting pressure on your knees and wrists. However for those of you who can do that they are amazing exercise moves they really work out your abs and more! Fortunately despite not being able to do some of those yoga moves I can still do the majority of the work outs so I'm very happy I now have this set as it's a nice balance with Rockin Body. Like I said though don't let it fool you  Yoga Booty Ballet is definitely a workout and you will feel it but it's a great balance for the mind and the body.
