The best memory for 2013 was my niece’s (then 9) excitement over helping plan a family celebration for my 50th birthday. It was small and intimate and she was so excited that she remembered my favorite cake flavor (vanilla birthday cake with tons of buttercream frosting) and had it decorated with some of my favorite flowers (violet, purple pansies, and peach roses)
