I’ve already got my Big Hero 6 Blu-Ray on the way as we want it in our collection! We are a family of movie lovers but that doesn’t mean we love all movies. We know that we usually can’t go wrong with a Disney movie but from the first preview we saw of Big Hero 6 it caught our attention. Sadly due to our busy lives we couldn’t see this fun movie when it first came out but it was at the top of our list.
The good news is when we did get to watch it we realized it was totally worth the wait! It’s a creative, unique story line that captures the minds and hearts of kids and adults of all ages. It was fun, engaging, sweet and even a few tears would shed.
Who would have thought an inflatable robot could be so cool? Baymax (the inflatable robot) is endearing, smart, funny, caring and so much more rolled up into a big marshmallow of a body. The voice of Scott Adsit was perfect for this character.
We laughed at the name of the city being San Fransokyo, we thought that was cute and then proceeded to come up with our own versions such as San Tokyo, TokyoFran, ToyCisco and all sorts of silliness. As a family with a 13 year old daughter we just found that we all enjoyed watching the movie. From the amazing animation quality, to the fun and exciting story line to the geeky gadgets and of course the adrenaline junky crew who turned themselves into super heroes. Talk about a packed story line but they pulled it together for such a fun movie we can’t imagine anyone not liking it!
Here’s the basic 411 on the movie storyline
“Big Hero 6,” an action-packed comedy-adventure about the special bond that develops between Baymax (voice of Scott Adsit), a plus-sized inflatable robot, and prodigy Hiro Hamada (voice of Ryan Potter). When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago (voice of Jamie Chung), neatnik Wasabi (voice of Damon Wayans Jr.), chemistry whiz Honey Lemon (voice of Genesis Rodriguez) and fanboy Fred (voice of T.J. Miller). Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called “Big Hero 6.” Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, and featuring breathtaking action with all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios, “BigHero 6” is directed by Don Hall (“Winnie the Pooh”) and Chris Williams (“Bolt”), and produced by Roy Conli (“Tangled”).
No wonder we loved it we’re HUGE Marvel fans and after all it was produced by Disney. So if you haven’t seen the movie yet make sure to snag the blu-ray as it’s a family movie that you will all enjoy and will want to have in your collection!
