I am an avid reader, seriously I just love to read but I have been finding lately that I haven't been able to make as much time for reading as I would like to. It's the usual busy with home, family, work which is my case is establishing my new website and of course my blog Powered by Mom. My blog is not necessarily work in the sense of I get paid a salary but it does take time to write reviews and set up giveaways. In fact some days it takes a lot of time and I can spend the whole day doing nothing but setting up, tweaking, writing and more for my blog.
I've always been an extremely busy person but I always managed to find time to read a good book. Even if this meant staying up late because the book and so enraptured me I couldn't put it down. Well let me tell you the book Blaze of Glory by M. Garzon is amazing. I was drawn into the book within a few pages and began to feel as if I was there in the story seeing up close the story unfolding. This is the first e-book that I have read and I wasn't quite sure how I would like reading off of a tablet. I'm still not sure however because Blaze of Glory is one of those stories that captures your imagination and pulls you in I didn't mind reading on the tablet in this case. I love this story so much I may buy the hard copy as I still love hard copies best so far but you never know I may grow to love the tablets.
I don't want to give too much away about the story itself as I simply can't do justice to the complexity of the characters that come to life on the page and superb writing of the author M. Garzon. I say superb writing because it's not easy to draw in a reader like me who has read many wonderful and not so wonderful books in the past. If you don't get my attention from the get go I won't finish reading the book. As I said not only did this book have my attention I was so engrossed in it when I first started reading that I didn't realize at first that I had been reading for over 3 hours!
Here's a teaser on the story:
The story is presented from the view of the main character Tea (pronounced Tay-A) who lives with her twin brother Seth and their step-father and their "cousin" Jaden. Tea is 16 and Jaden is 22 and they are attracted to each other but they fight it as for some reason their family wouldn't approve. Don't worry there is a reason that I put cousin in quotation marks but that is a part of the story you need to see unfold yourself. Tea has a beautiful horse named Blaze, her pride and joy but tragedy strikes for Tea and Blaze one of the most heart wrenching parts of the book for me. I was so involved in the story that I had to put the book down for a few moments when Blaze's and Tea's tragedy unfolded.
Every character is so well written that they literally come to life onto the page and I can't say that about every book I have read. While it does have romance and is also about horses, horse-riding competitions it is so much more! You simply have to read it to fully know what I am talking about.
You can purchase this book in either hard copy or an e-book version for your kindle or computer at Amazon. The kindle version is only $5.99 that is an amazing deal. This book has received several rave reviews!
As you can see I'm absolutely in love with this book and the characters. I will be looking up other books by this author. I've also heard that this book will be picked up as a television series, I sure hope so and if they do I hope they can do the characters justice 🙂
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
