BRIO Toys Make the World a Better Place!

I have come to a place in my life where I'm choosing quality over quantity. It has taken me quite a while (and lots of wasted dollars) to come to the realization that you really do get what you pay for. I absolutely love it when companies give quality product at "quantity" prices. BRIO does just that!

About BRIO:

With a clean and simple design language, our products encourage and open up a whole universe of fun, where the only limitation is their own imagination. This is a play-philosophy we base all our products on, and it’s one that we’ve stayed true to since the birth of our company.

Each generation progresses a bit. Things change. One thing that hasn't changed is how kids learn. BRIO recognizes this and gives kids toys that fuel their creativity and pushes them to think outside of the box.

I absolutely fell in love with this company even more when I read how much thought is put into each and everyone of the BRIO toys offered to our babies.

“It’s important to distinguish between entertainment and growth. For BRIO, toys are not about entertaining or pacify children. A successful toy is able to stimulate the child’s imagination and be part of the child’s growth through play – even at different ages. Take our famous Toddler Wobbler, for instance it can be used to help the child learn how to walk. When the child is a bit older, the child might use the wobbler to store different objects. And later in the child’s development, it’s used to transport other toys. It should be possible to use toys at different levels as the child grows. We think a lot about these things.”   ~  Daniel Mauritzson is a toy designer at BRIO

Here are some of the BRIO toys that we tried out.  They each get a big A+ in our book!

My First Take Along Set:

BRIO Train Set

Mama, are you thinking what I'm thinking? A toy that is self-contained = WIN! This is another hard learned lesson. Everything that comes in the house needs a home in the house. When toys come with their very own home, it just makes life better for everyone. This "toy home" is also part of the toy. Chunky little toddler hands can take their train on many adventures with this super cute Train set from BRIO.

Light & Sound Firetruck:

BRIO Toys

This is one of those toys that is almost too pretty to play with... almost. Junior would never stand for this cute firetruck to just sit on a shelf. However, it's so cute it will add the perfect touch to any playroom when not in use (which will likely be when junior is sleeping - because it's just so much fun to play with!). In my experience, any vehicle that makes noise brings out the imagination in kids, from tots to preteens.

Builder Activity Set:

BRIO Toys

This is the kind of set that my eldest has always adored. He's 14 and still loves to create with sets like this one. Kind of goes back to that whole creating a toy that grows with the child mantra we just read about. Sets like this really get the creative juices flowing. You can build a race car or a castle or a race car castle. The sky truly is the limit!

"Logic will take you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere."

  1. I'd give this to my younger son. He likes race cars, but doesn't have the dexterity to put together tracks designed for older kids.

  5. I like how these toys use small motor skills and STEM type logic. My toddler isn't quite ready for them yet but I know it will help him to slow down and use his reasoning to put the pieces together.

  14. I agree with your "quality over quantity" outlook. When my son was young his room was filled with random toys that he hardly played with and they taught him nothing. I am now a Grandma and only buy educational toys such as these.
