Bruce’s Big Move – Life Throws Curveballs

in Reviews on 10/01/17

Bruce’s Big Move Children’s Book

Sometimes… ok… a lot of times, life decides to throw us curveballs. What we imagine our life to look like, isn’t always the way it plays out. It is our job as parents to teach our children how to “roll with it” when those unpleasant situations get thrown their way. Reading Bruce’s Big Move to your child will help spark a conversation about this very topic!

Bruce's Big Move

We don’t always like the situations we are put into and sometimes, we may not even like everyone in our home. At the end of the day, the ones in our home are the ones who complete us.

The Bruce Series

Bruce’s Big Move is the third book in the Bruce series. In the first book, Bruce has a deep love for eggs. One day, Bruce came home to find that the goose eggs he purchased for a new recipe had hatched. Instantly, the geese began to call Bruce “Mama”. After having no luck with returning the geese or talking them into leaving, Bruce decided to embrace the fact that he is now “Mama Bruce”. All the geese and Bruce migrated to Miami for the winter.

In the second book, Bruce comes home from Miami to find that mice have taken over his house and turned it into a hotel for animals… MANY animals.

About Bruce’s Big Move

In Bruce’s Big Move, Bruce was still dealing with mice, mice everywhere! A once clean home of ONE bear has turned into a messy house with Bruce, five geese, and an infestation of mice! Bruce is tired of all the noise and mess. He realizes the mice are not leaving, so he packed up his “family” (himself and the geese), and went looking for a new house. Finally, he finds the “perfect house”. The perfect house is perfect for HIM but the geese miss the mice. The mice had become family!

Bruce's Big Move

When the moving truck arrives, Bruce is surprised to see that the pesty mice arrived with the moving truck. Everything goes back to the way it was before their move. Nothing had gone as Bruce had planned but he realized at the end that this was just his new normal.

Big Move

Bruce’s Big Move is a great way to spark a conversation with your children about accepting the circumstances around them and making sacrifices for those they love.

New normal: We all have to adjust to new normals quite often in our lives. This is a great concept for a children’s book.

The kids right now don’t have to move anywhere. I know they do want pets though and would love to have some ” geese” or “mice” around, lol. I think both the kids would enjoy hearing the Bruce story read to them. My great niece just started school so she’ll learn to read soon and would be excited to read this book when she can 🙂

Sounds like a book for my 5 year old. And that’s the part about being use to the old and trying to bring in the new. But you still miss the old and end of still bring the old.
