Ahhh yummy Caramel Dulce Latte

If you've been a Powered by Mom follower for a little while you know that I LOVE my coffee. I really love to make different ones like this copycat Starbucks Caramel Dulce Latte. I love caramel and yes this does make it more like a dessert by hey why not?

Caramel Dulce Latte

So don't go spending $5 a drink for fancy coffees when you can make your own. If you get to be like me and you have all of the supplies at home then it really is a lot cheaper in the long run.

Are you ready to find out how to make this Caramel Dulce Latte now? Here you go.

Caramel Dulce Latte

Ingredients

  • For the homemade Dulce syrup - this is for several cups so have a mason jar to store the syrup afterwards
  • 1 cup water
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 tbs vanilla
  • 8 oz espresso
  • caramel topping
  • Whipping cream

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan combine water and sugars, whisk together 3-5 minutes until just before boiling.
  2. Continue boiling for another 3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  4. Let cool and keep syrup stored in a mason jar.

For the drink.

  1. Add 2-3 tablespoon of Dulce (I do 2tbsp as I like it a little less sweet)
  2. 4 oz espresso,
  3. Milk and add whip cream.
  4. Drizzle with caramel.

Now remember all that sugar makes quite a bit of Dulce but you can cut down on the sugar if you want to, I actually do about ½ cup of brown sugar and a little less than a ¼ cup. Experiment and see how sweet you like your Caramel Dulce Latte. Just remember that "dulce" does mean sweet so if you don't like even a little bit sweet then the Caramel Dulce Latte is not for you. Have a good espress or plain latte. I don't like super sweet either. You can check out some of the other types of coffee I make like the Great Pumpkin Mocha Spice one HERE. My favourite espresso machine which also makes cappuccinos and lattes at a push of a button is magnificent you can read about it HERE.

Caramel Dulce Latte

When I use the Magnifica I make a latte with a double shot of espresso in it and then I add the dulce, makes for a strong but sweet coffee with a taste of caramel. Oh yum it's dessert that's for srue! Don't forget we have so many fabulous recipes from desserts to meals to healthy stuff too!
