I play piano. A friend was taking lessons when we were teens and I started messing around on his Ensoniq. He laughed at me and said if I wanted to learn to play I’d have to take lessons like he was doing. He told me I wouldn’t be able to play otherwise. I went out and bought a pawn shop Casio and taught myself to play, to prove him wrong. I was better in 6 weeks of practice than he was in 6 months of lessons and he got mad at me. I did it because he told me I couldn’t.
