Core Max

The Machine

I have grown to love the CoreMax System! It is a little heavy, but it takes up almost no space, especially when the arms are locked down in "storage" position. It is also super easy to get it ready and use it. Simply push the button in, slide the arm with the roller up and adjust to the level of resistance you want.  There are 3 levels of resistance that are easy to adjust from one move to the next.  The rollers are thick, firm and soft. I found it perfectly comfortable to rest and push on them. The main platform that you sometimes sit on is lightly padded but very comfortable.

I found that this was built with the proper angles and resistance because it does not seem to want to slide out from under me or tip over which is very nice. And may I also mention, I LOVE the color? It actually matches most of my workout gear!

The DVD

The workout DVD has two workout options. There is the daily 8-minute workout and the advanced 40-minute workout.  The 8-minute workout runs a little over 12 minutes in total, with video instruction on adjusting the resistance, plus a quick and easy seated warm-up, and a bonus 1-minute cardio exercise.  You can follow along with the DVD and the included poster with the exercises. It focuses on maintaining a good pace for each move for 1 solid minute, which can be harder than it sounds! I hit the 30-40 second mark, and it starts getting tough! The trainer in the video reminds you to keep your core muscles engaged the entire time, which is where you build your strength. Many of the moves work multiple areas all at once though it does focus on core strength.

I have had 3 kids in 8 years, so let's face it, I can use all the help I can get with my core! Surprisingly, one of my favorite moves is the push-up! I HATE push-ups! But the CoreMax Machine provides just enough support to maintain proper position and supports so I can actually do a full push-up! It's pretty neat and very encouraging! I admittedly have not tried the 40-minute workout yet, but I'm working up the courage to try it soon! I can already feel the results after the 8-minute workout, I can't imagine how tired I'll be after 40!

The Extras

The posters are great! The exercise poster features every move on the DVD. It shows clear positioning for each move, plus the muscles it works.  The other is two-sided and features a 14-day healthy meal plan. It gives you the amount of each food for breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and snack.  It also includes if you need to do prep for the next day's meal! There is also a full shopping list for each week which is very handy. I, personally, don't like everything listed, but it is easy to adapt the recipes to things I do like. This is considered a "Rapid Start" meal plan to jump-start your results in combination with the CoreMax System.  Meals don't repeat too often but do utilize leftovers and include things like BLTs, Chili, salmon steak, pork chops, and lots of fruits and veggies.  The diet seems very well balanced and easy to adapt.

The Results

So I have not been using this long enough to really see results yet. I have been super surprised how much I love this little machine! And who doesn't have 8-10 minutes to spare in their day? It is so easy and quick to use! Plus it takes up almost no room. The exercises are easy and low-impact, but I can really feel my muscles working. I think the CoreMax Total Body Training System is a great way to start and maintain an easy at-home exercise routine.

  1. This looks like a great little machine. I love how compact it is! I would love to put something like this to good use after baby #3 comes in a few months.

  2. I like that it is one piece of equipment that works many body parts. I also like that it isn't a big bulky thing that takes up a quarter of a room!
