Decadent S’Mores Hot Cocoa Recipe

Oh the weather outside is frightful, making this yummy drink even more delightful! This S’Mores Hot Cocoa is a perfect hot winter drink that is ideal for kids and adults alike with chocolate, marshmallows and graham cracker crumbs!smores hot cocoa

MMMM S’Mores Hot Cocoa

This hot beverage is easy to put together so you can enjoy this chocolate liquid goodness as soon as possible. You can either use store-bought hot chocolate or you can follow our recipe for the hot chocolate mix on our After Eight Peppermint Hot Chocolate recipe and just skip adding the peppermint extract!

Level Up With Toasted Marshmallows

While we didn’t toast the marshmallows this time as you can see by our photos we have done that in the past for this S’Mores hot cocoa and it’s ahmazing! To have toasted marshmallows you’ll want to get the larger marshmallows, put them on a broiler-safe pan. I recommend coating the pan with non-stick spray otherwise you’re scraping off marshmallows.

smores hot cocoa Turn the oven on to broil and once it’s heated put in the marshmallows. Don’t go anywhere these can burn in under a minute. You literally want to stand there and watch them toast to the golden color you want and then add them to the top of your S’mores hot cocoa. If you have a kitchen torch you can then of course use that to toast your marshmallows instead. Mine bit the dust and I need another one to make some creme brulee and of course toast marshmallows for our Smore’s hot cocoa.smores hot cocoa

Of course, this means you should make the S’mores hot cocoa in advance and the last thing you do is toast the marshmallows, add to your drink and maybe drizzle some chocolate sauce and very finely crushed graham crackers. I would add only the tiniest amount of graham crackers and then cover them with the chocolate sauce. Too much of the graham crackers make the drink gritty in my opinion and not nearly as enjoyable.

Alternatively, you can skip the graham cracker crumbs and just put a solid piece of a graham cracker in the hot cocoa, basically dipping it in this warm and delicious beverage.
