FUN Family Games
Gather the family and have Family Fun Night!
If you’re home is like mine, as my kids get older their Christmas list gets shorter but SO much more expensive! We’ve gone from baby dolls and army men to iPads and hoverboards. Not that I mind getting them gifts they’ll use, but I miss the quality time spent spinning cars up and down the hallway and dressing Barbie in her newest fashion. This year I’m taking a new approach. We are focusing on quality family time. Sure, I’m getting them some of the prizes on their wish list but I’m throwing in some “family” gifts too. Fun family games are tops on my list. If you’re looking for something to do with the kiddos in the comfort of your home, read on!
Stick Stack:
This game is challenging and fun for all ages. It’s “A Game of Tilting Tactics”. Each player draws a “straw” from the bag when it’s their turn. You must balance the “straw” on the tower provided. Easy enough right… wrong. The tower is color coated, as is the straws. You must place the straw so the colors are sitting on like colors. It’s pretty simple to begin with but as the straws begin to stack up the difficulty and the FUN begin! Such a great game!
Thing Two and Thing One Whirly Fun:
Looking for a game for the younger tots of the home? Is it possible to go wrong with Thing One and Thing Two?!? Kids will love exploring the house and trying to make sure everything’s tidy and in its place before “mother” gets home. Thing One and Thing Two are NOT cooperating! They operate similar to an old timey “top”, wind it up and watch it whirl around the house.
Suspicion:
Love, love, love this game! Two to six players can play this game together ( the more the merrier). Everyone has been invited to a party, little does the homeowner know, he’s invited a bunch of jewel thieves to his jewel laden home. As you go thru the home, admiring the jewels, you’re trying to find out which one of the thieves has planned the heist this time! Great game for the older kiddos and adults, age recommendation is 10+.
Really Bad Art:
I’ll just start off saying – if it’s really bad art you want – I’m your guy 🙂 ! A game just for me, finally… Really Bad Art is a fun fast paced game that’s suited for ages 12+. You have 6 seconds to look at your card. The card will include phrases like; “lack of confidence”, “quality of life”, “constructive criticism”, or “yikes!”. You have to try and draw that phrase out. This game will have everyone rolling at how some of us (ahem) interpret certain phrases!
