It’s our Dog Adoption Pet of the Day – Meet Jackie and Zoe
#AdoptDon’tShop
These two gorgeous 10 year olds are anything but old. Both Jackie and Zoe are full of spunk and nowhere near close to slowing down in life yet. PLEASE SHARE to help them find their home — together! Read on to find out more about them. If you can’t adopt them that’s okay, if you don’t live by that’s okay you can still share. We can reach far and wide no matter where we actually live!
If you’re not going to have a pet be indoors with you the majority of the time, give it lots of love, prepared to pay vet bills in an emergency and make a life time commitment then a pet is not for you. This is something we are passionate about and really want to get the message across to adopt not shop and that it’s a lifetime commitment of love!
Sadly, after their former owner became too ill to care for them, Jackie and Zoe were sent to live in the garage. They were then surrendered over to the shelter, but shelter life is just no fun for these two at all. Jackie and Zoe need a good home with lots of love, a few rules, and plenty of fun!!
Shelter staff member Gracie wrote, “These sweet ladies came to the shelter after their owner became too ill to care for them anymore. They became too difficult for the family to handle and were then placed outside to live in the garage. Finally, they were surrendered over. They have so much spunk left in them and a lot of love to give too!
Jackie is more of the diva. She enjoys her meals, toys, and lots of blankets for her naps. She is easier to walk on a leash. Zoe is more rambunctious and doesn’t know her boundaries.
Both are quite jumpy so our recommendation is no cats, small/young children, or little dogs. Since they do need to find their home together, no other dogs would be ideal but not required.
Since they have been at the shelter, various staff and volunteers have spent time working with them. They have come a long way. Please consider opening your home to these two sweet faces! By welcoming Zoe and Jackie in to your life, you will be rewarded with love beyond compare!
We do not have a set transport policy in place. We typically require adopters to meet with the dogs in person prior to processing the paperwork. We have done out of state adoptions in the past and will work around circumstances in hopes of finding the right home for them.”
To adopt, please complete the adoption application found here.

What sweet dogs! I love that you’re posting about animals in need of families! My family is looking to adopt a dog, and can’t wait ’til we find the right one for us. 🙂

We’ve tried rescuing dogs in the past but my youngest is autistic and it didn’t end well. One dog was very ill and we had to put to sleep, my son didn’t handle that very well. The next really need someone with more time, it had been abused and went to the bathroom every time it heard a loud noise. Our neighbor whose retired took her and she’s fine. Both are perfect. I commend anyone who can do this. Thank you.

I don’t like animals, but, it’s really a great thing that you do. You get the photos of animals that need a home. And, you are very honest about the reality of owning a pet. They do require lots of time, money and love.

So sad when older pets are surrendered and have to be “re-homed”. They are gorgeous and look like great pups! Hopefully they will soon find their new forever home!

Older dogs are the best to adopt…they’re loyal and loving. I hope they find a home soon!
