Yummy Easy Chocolate Mousse Recipe

If you love the rich taste of chocolate then this Easy Chocolate Mousse Recipe is for you!

This easy chocolate mousse recipe is super rich in flavor and of course it's all about the chocolate, so come on all you chocolate lovers time for some chocolate mousse, you'll love how easy it is to make this one!easy chocolate mousse

This easy chocolate mousse recipe has become favorite with my family and friends. I've made it so many times now and yet it never stops impressing everyone. While the wait time for it is what takes so long it really is easy to make. You can even do it in the microwave if you want.

You can top this chocolate mousse with some chocolate curls, berries, coconut or leave it plain, either way, it's delicious. I personally love chocolate mousse with raspberries. While I did top these ones with chocolate whipped cream, it's not needed as the chocolate mousse is so rich.  Be prepared to loosen those pants though because it is a rich dessert and you'll feel full and your chocolate cravings satisfied. Did I mention it's easy to make?

If you love the rich taste of chocolate then this Easy Chocolate Mousse Recipe is for you! This recipe is rich in flavor and it's all about the chocolate!

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 2 hours
Total Time 2 hours 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups whipping cream
  • 1 ½ teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Place the chocolate chips in a mixing bowl that will have enough room to add the cream
  2. In a saucepan bring the cream just to boil (no need to scald it)
  3. Pour cream over the chocolate chips and start to whisk until it's smooth
  4. Whisk in the vanilla
  5. Refrigerate for at least one hour or until it's chilled and has thickened.
  6. If you double the recipe then double the cooling time.
  7. After it's chilled use an electric mixer and beat chocolate mix until soft peaks form.
  8. Spoon in dessert bowls and serve with or without toppings

Notes

"Cook" time is time to chill. It is ready after chilling in the fridge and whipping in the mixer but I recommend chilling for another hour after spooning into dessert bowls.

How to Make Chocolate Mousse Special

Now how easy is that? You probably already have all of the ingredients you need for this easy chocolate mousse in your fridge and cupboards right now. You can also use a raspberry extract or peppermint extract. I love the vanilla but you can also skip it as the chocolate and the cream make this a decadent dessert all on its own. Another favourite topping besides whipped cream (making it extra decadent) are chocolate shavings, strawberries and toasted coconut. chocolate mousseI get asked to make this chocolate mousse all of the time and I'm happy to do it because it is so easy to make and it's oh so delicious. I use whatever seasonal fruits we have on hand or even some toasted coconut which is a personal favorite of mine besides the raspberries. I know I've already said this but I love raspberries with chocolate mousse yum yum.chocolate mousseIf you're looking for a dessert that looks good, is easy to make and that everyone is bound to love then you can't go wrong with this delicious chocolate mousse. 43. Thanks for the wonderful recipe on Easy Chocolate Mousse Recipe! This doesn’t sound too hard to make! I’ve never made mousse before, however, this sounds really easy to make! I saved the recipe and I have to get the whipping cream from the store. I can’t get to the grocery store now until after Hubby gets paid! With running to and from the hospital to see my Dad, has taken even more of our grocery money away! It takes the gas and parking every single time we go! I feel horrible because my sister’s are there every single day! I can’t afford to go every single day!!! Anyway, thanks so much for sharing this delicious recipe with all of us! I can’t wait to make it! Thanks again! Michele 🙂
