Does your child have eczema? Do you live in Canada?
If you answered yes to all of the above then Powered by Mom has some wonderful information for you!
Powered by Mom understands what it's like to have a skin condition and not have the support you need to help with it. While I don't have eczema I did develop rosacea about two years ago. Once I was finally diagnosed with what was causing the red, itchy and very unattractive red bumps on my face, I wanted to find out more about it. I was surprised by the lack of information on rosacea and what causes it. Nothing my family doctor or dermatologist prescribed helped me for the long term they all only worked for a very short time. Having red, itchy, swollen bumps on my face wreaked havoc with my self-esteem and it was so uncomfortable. I only wished I had the type of support that is being offer by La Roche-Posay Canada. Read on to find out more about how they want to help your family and how you can enter for a chance to get this support.
La Roche-Posay Canada wants to help more families across Canada to live more comfortably with eczema. They understand the need and want to improve the quality of life for Canadian children with eczema and their families. La Roche-Posay Canada is going to help 100 families across Canada who are selected to be in their 100 Families program by providing them with the following:
- Continuous eczema support
- Information and education to help families better manage their eczema and improve their quality of life
- A supply of Lipikar Baume AP and Lipikar Syndet at no cost for December, January and February
Each family that is chosen will be on the La Roche-Posay Facebook page, sharing their progress and achievements while in the program. To enter for a chance to be a part of their 100 Families program you will need to become a Facebook fan and submit your story to [email protected] between November 1st - November 18th and tell them in 500 words or less:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Name & age of child with eczema
- About your child’s condition
- What joining the program means to you
- What becoming a La Roche-Posay ambassador means to you
There will be a pre-selected jury of 3 people to review and approve each family submission. The contest will be featured on the La Roche-Posay Canada Facebook wall via status updates and images. To be eligible families must have a child currently under the age of 18 suffering from eczema and must be a resident of Canada.
I think this is a wonderful opportunity that will help so many families what a great program! As I mentioned with my rosacea, I wish I had such support but I am so glad I now know about La Roche-Posay. As my daughter has also developed some sort of skin condition that we're still waiting to find out what it is. Fortunately for her it only appears occasionally and we know it has something to do with her skin being sensitive to certain things put on her face such as certain sun lotion, cosmetics and a few other things. I will definitely be checking out La Roche-Posay Canada to see how they can possibly help us.
Don't wait go and submit your story and hopefully you will be 1 of 16 new families chosen to be added in this wonderful support program! Good luck!

Thanks for putting this information out there. Two of our kids had mild eczema when they were younger. Our son outgrew it, but our daughter still occasionally deals with it on her arms. She's learned to keep it fairly under control by keeping the area moisturized, but I know how frustrating it can be to deal with.
I think this product sounds great. My 2 year old grandson has problems with his skin.
I live in the US, but I think it is wonderful that you are trying to get the word out there and help others..my oldest son is away at college, and has had eczema for the past 3 years. I hate that the only thing that seems to work is a steroid cream that he can only take for two weeks at a time... the 2-4 weeks in between treatments are absolutely miserable for him... feasibly, he only has one good week each month because he is either getting used to the steroid again, or coming off of it. There has to be a better way? He's a photographer..and developing his prints has become torturous for him.. it's a no win situation no matter what we have tried... and the fact that I have to try and help him, long distance, just makes it all a bit worse...ugh.
I live in the US but feel that this will help so many people.
I live in the US, but my 6 yr old Grandson has eczema so this is somwe great info, will pass along to my Son! TY!
We've battled eczema with my son since he was in infant. Any relief is worth top dollar in our book!
What a wonderful program! I am so impressed by this company! Eczema can be so frustrating to deal with as a parent. I'm so glad it is getting attention.
Wish they were doing this in the US! Dd could really benefit from it! Now that it's getting cooler, her legs are really itching her where she had the eczema breakouts!
my son has eczema and I havent found anything that helps; great advice and now Im going to find some to try
It is so great that this program is available for children that have eczema. I wish this was available in the US because my niece has eczema and could really benefit from this. Thank you for sharing.
Thank God no one I know has this. I would help spread the word and lend support anyway we can.
My neices have eczema but I think it's a mild case. Thank you for the info 🙂
Both myself and my daughter have eczema. My daughter's was really bad when she was younger, but it isn't as bad now. What a great opportunity for those 100 winners. I won't be entering though as I feel there is other girls out there that would benefit from it more than my daughter would.
looks like a great product!
I don't live in canada but this is great information thanks and I hope that it really helps some people
both my kids and i have this
I have family in Canada with small children so sharing this is a joy!
This is great. My nephew has pretty sever eczema. Poor little man is only 3yrs old & it kills my sister. I will definitely link her here to this great program info 🙂 Thank you!
My mom and my 2 sisters would really benefit from this.
I will have to pass this on to my friend, her child has eczema . I will metion it to her and send her the link..
Good information! I think this is a GREAT opportunity that can help a lot of kids with excema.
Wow this sounds great and great review. My son actually had pretty bad eczema up until about 1 year old and he is now 15 months and seems to have grown out of it though he still has very sensitive skin. But I felt so bad when he was so little he always had bad spots of it on his face and we could only use special soaps and lotions on him. So I feel for the families with little ones with eczema.
I feel for anyone afflicted with eczema especially children. This sounds like a great program
My daughter could use this! We are not in Canada but are close so I am definitely going to look into it.
This sounds like a great program for people who have this condition. Too bad this is only available in Canada.
My son could use this, but we don;t know anyone in Canada personally but will mention it on my homeschool group.
I wish my Granddaughter had some of that. She has exema around her ear and it looks just terrible. I will have her Mom read this article.
I' don't know anyone with this nor do I live in Canada but this seems like a great product for those that do.
don't live in canada & don't have ecsema, but know people that do. Not fun!
i don't live in canada but i hope this really helps someone.
This is a really wonderful program. my brother has had eczema for many years and it has been very difficult for him to find a treatment that really works. this skin condition can be truly devastating and inhibiting for many people and it is very good to know that this program is being made available to a number of families that can truly benefit from the help.
Very informative!
Its good to know that there are products that are made especially for this ready to use. Thank you. Jerri Davis
I had this very bad when I was a child! It covered the under neath of both my arms from wrist to elbow. That is a pain I will never forgot. I was extremely lucky and out grew it. I haven't had a relapse. I can just imagine the pain that those children are enduring
While as an adult I often suffer from dry skin and occasional rashes/allergic reaction - I remember painfully well when I was back in elementary / grammar school: there was a very sensitive, gentle, kind and very creative young girl, Elisabeth. She was a lovely person and even a very pretty girl but for one thing: she had a serious skin condition - I'm still not sure what it was: eczema? Psoraisis?
What I do know is that she was teased mercilessly, made fun of, endured tricks being played on her and was generally ostrasized. I tried to reach out to her, but was limited somewhat by my own insecurities and fears. It still haunts me today when I think of so much unnecessary pain, cruelty, ignorance and waste.
Back then people just didn't talk about anything "different" ("freakish or scary") - but there is no excuse today. We need to recognize and support our children who suffer in the worst way this needless cruelty and damage. Check in, read up and join today.
Well said Jesslyn!
My niece suffers from eczema, I feel for those affected.
I don't know anyone with eczema but my bf had psoriasis and he has yet to find anything to help.
Good info to have in case it is needed.
Passing this on to my friend who's daughter has eczema. Thank you for the info!
It is a good thing that people who have exzema can get access to this wonderful product.
My son has ezcema, but not near as bad as his biological fathers side of the family. We kept stock in Kenelog Cream. It was the only thing that the doctors prescribed back then. My son is barely bothered anymore, he is now 33 years old.
Wish they had that here in the States...I have a friend who would benefit from this!
My children suffer from eczema. With winter and dry heat, it flares up for most of the season. Spring brings relief. It is not easy for my daughter because her hands are her problem area.
I've never had to deal with eczema, but I have friends that have. I will gladly pass this information on to them. It can be frustrating at times and I know they are always looking for ways to improve their situation.
Great info! I'll pass it along!
Great info! My mother in law suffers from this! She would benefit from this great info!

I had eczema as a child but luckily outgrew the condition before my teens. Thanks for the info.
Friend of mine, and his wife just had a baby about 8 months ago. He was diagnosed with eczema when he was 3 months old.. they have to keep socks on his hands so that he doesnt scratch... I think they could really benefit! If only they lived in Canada!
I or noone i know deal with exzema but this really sounds good for someone who is suffering with it.
this seems like a really great product
I have eczema so I can totally relate to this skin condition. The products look great and I have never heard of them, but I know that company makes very nice things.
This sounds like a great product that can help so many people.
Yes, I and my daughters have eczema.
I've seen wrinkle and sun products by this company, but I did not know that this company made ezcema creams. Are they available in the US?
I will share this on my facebook page.
WOW! Way to go Canada!
My husband needs this.
I've had eczema my entire life. Too bad I'm not a child and don't live in Canada. I bet this will help a lot of people though!!
My one grandson and one granddaughter have eczema really bad since birth. What bothers me is the people that look at them like they have some contagious disease. I wish it was more made aware of to the public. I know years ago I use to think it was something only the elderly got.
Sounds like an awesome product. I have a friend in Canada. He might know of someone who will benefit from it.
Sounds like a great thing for people in Canada
I don't have this but it's great to know there is something out there to help.
I don't live in Canada, but I think this is a great product for people who do live there! =)
Thanks so much for the info on this product. I have eczema and I have tried everything, I will give this product a try! and hopefully it works.
I do not live in Canada but I developed eczema on the palms of my hands after years of using antibacterial dish soap, hand sanitizers and hand soap. I will never use anything with triclosan ever again. I wish I would have known the dangers of using hand sanitizers and antibacterial products on my skin before it caused me to develop this awful condition I am now stuck with for the rest of my life 🙁
I don't live in Canada but my daughter does suffer from eczema. Finding a good lotion is so difficult.
I do no know anyone who has had eczema but it looks very painful. It;s good that they come out with different medications to help it.
Good to know there is this kind of help, I have a cousin who suffers from eczema and It's just sad to see her with it since she's small
My sister has eczema. When it flares up it really drives her crazy!
My skin was problem free all of my life until 3 years ago and then I developed eczema..my life has been a living hell ever since. My dermatologist has tried every drug, ointments and creams on the market plus several over the counter medications. They help for a few weeks and then it flares up like wild fire again...it has never completely gone away. I wish I was under the age of 18 so I could join in this program..thanks so much for sharing this post.
I don't live in Canada or have a a child. But I'll let my relatives up there know!!
i dont live in canada but think this is a great thing for people who do.
I personally don't have to deal with this, but i do know how terrible it is for people who do.
Great product!!
Great idea! Hope the families who participate have wonderful results!
It's awesome to see a large corporation like La Roche-Posay Canada giving back, they are setting a good example for others.
I absolutely LOVE this program, and am so glad that I wrote about it too!
I have lots of eczema and skin conditions in my family/friends.
I don't know anyone with eczema, but it's great for those who have to deal with it.
It seems we are always behind here, especially when it come to our children's needs, perhaps this treatment will soon be available here.
Glad they are doing this in Canada...wish they would do it in the US.
This is a great promotion for a great product!

NEVER HEARD OF THIS --BUT GOOD REVIEW
I've never had to deal with eczema thank goodness! This really sounds like it would be very helpful to someone who needs it. If I hear of anyone dealing with this, I'll be sure to share it with them! Thanks for taking the time!
Wow! Great product and super opportunity for some people with this really terrible skin condition.
