Powered by Mom Blog wants us all to be aware and prevent with Lice Shield
I know no one likes to think of it and it makes our skin crawl but head lice is out there and it can be a problem. I also think it’s important that we all bust some of those myths out there and not stigmatize anyone if they are unlucky to get lice. People generally do not get lice because they don’t wash their hair, that’s a myth folks as head lice doesn’t distinguish between dirty or clean hair for that matter. Read on and I will share a bit more and we’re giving away these amazing preventative care products with natural essential oils that also smell so good!
Powered by Mom received a set of these preventative hair care lice treatments as the kids are back in school and it seems that every year there seems to be a head lice warning. As mentioned head lice does not differentiate between clean or dirty hair so if someone gets it they were just unlucky nothing else. I really dislike the stigma that has come with head lice, kids and parents are horrified and some feel ashamed if they get it, not wanting to admit that. People try to to guess which child got it etc.. it’s all so crazy.
One year my daughter was home sick and when she went back to school she was asked if she was the one who got head lice as during the time she was gone a head lice notice had gone out to the parents. Well she wasn’t the one but really who cares which child it was, wouldn’t that child have had enough to deal with (hello the lice) let alone not wanting to tell their friends. No one should be ashamed about it as it happens but at least now there are some preventative measures that can be taken such as Lice Shield.
Lice Shield Shampoo & Conditioner in 1 and Leave-In Spray, are free of harmful pesticides and are easy to substitute into a child’s daily hair care routine. Both the shampoo & conditioner in 1 and the leave in spray smell fantastic! There is eucalyptus and lemongrass in them so you can imagine how great that would smell, I think it smells more like lemongrass myself which I love. Better yet both products condition and detangle the hair so you could easily incorporate it in to your child’s hair care routine to help repel any potential lice.
A couple more myths to share is that lice also doesn’t care whether your hair is short or long and that kids are more likely to get lice from school. Keeping your head underwater kills head lice: NO not true head lice can’t be washed away or drowned. These suckers can survive under water apparently for a few hours!
