Rigoni di Asiago offers Organic Spreads that are Perfecto!

We eat a lot of honey and jelly in my home.  Since the kids are home all day with homeschool, we eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at home, plus have snacks.  Therefore they get bored easily with the same old thing so they like to explore other options.  Like honey instead of jelly, or new flavors of jelly.  They also love hazelnut spread for breakfast once in awhile instead of oatmeal or cereal.  I will not buy jelly or jam with additives in it, so I was thrilled with the selection of spreads from Rigoni di Asiago.

About Rigoni di Asiago

This family owned company is located in the Altopiano di Asiago, a mountain plateau in North Italy.  They have a long standing tradition of jam and honey making, so they have mastered these crafts.  Rigoni di Asiago produce organically farmed jam, honey, and chocolate spreads that are delicious.

Fiordifrutta Jam

The jams are made with real ripened organic fruit.  They are light, and unique offering low calories because they are sweetened with organic apple juice.  There are no additives and they are healthy and all natural.  I tried Strawberry, blueberry, black currants, and raspberry Fiordifrutta. I really love them, and they are like eating the fruit with a spoon.  The simplicity of them does not carry over to the taste, as they are exceptionally delicious.

I am trying to stay off of sugar and carbs currently, so some Fiordifrutta jam with some all natural peanut butter allows me to have PB and J without sugar and additives.  Since it is so yummy, I really feel quite guilty like I cheated.  I am able to eat natural sugar that comes from the fruit itself, which makes this jelly one of the only kids I can eat.

 Mielbio Raw Honey

The honey from Rigoni di Asiago encompasses a full range of Italian honey.  There is honey made from Wildflowers, Acacia, Lime, Pine, Orange Blossom, and many others.  The texture of the organic honey is smooth and creamy, so spreading it on toast or a sandwich is easy.  The flavor is rich and unique.  I was very interested in the taste of the Orange Blossom Honey because it is a creamy white color.  The taste was pure honey and very delicious.  My son loves this honey and eats it with peanut butter often.  He would eat it out of the jar, but I will not let him do that.

Nocciolata

Nocciolata is a healthy chocolate treat that is packed with hazelnuts and chocolate.  This wonderful organic cream was exclusively developed by Rigoni di Asiago.  After nearly 36 hours slow processing, Nicciolata gets its unique flavor and texture.  The process brings out all the flavor of the hazelnuts and the chocolate.  The best part is they have a dairy free variety as well, so those who cannot have dairy can still enjoy this creamy, rich, hazlenut spread.

My children love this one most of all since it is so desert like.  They slather it on toast, mix it into their oatmeal, and dip graham crackers or apples in it.  I love the fact that it is organic and has no bad additives.  Therefore it is a win for them and a win for me since I do not mind them eating it.  I wish I could eat it all too since it smells so wonderful, but I have to have will power.  Therefore I will stick to the Fiordifrutta while the kids enjoy the Mielbio and the Nocciolata spreads.

  1. I like jam! I've been making my own, I've not tried this brand yet, I've seen it in the store and it sounds so good, I must try!
