It's no secret that whether it's mom and daughter, father and son or any mix of the above parents and kids will have some conflict, especially as the kids grow and want to know more and of course form their own opinions. My daughter and I go through this on occasion and what has worked best for us is when we listen to each other and try to work through it together as a family. She wants to be heard but we also explain to her that mom and dad need to be heard to so that she can understand why we make the decisions we do.
Of course it's not always easy and sometimes there are hurt feelings but the main thing for us to talk about it and work on solutions together whenever we can. What do you and your children do to work through conflict?
