Eyeglasses for Kids See Free Program

Powered by Mom Talks About the Eyeglasses for Kids See Free Program! #KidsSeeFree

Kids ages 4-10 years can receive free eyeglasses at the Real Canadian Superstore.

We recently learned about and got to experience the Kids See Free program at the Real Canadian Superstore, which for us here in BC is the Real Canadian Superstore. This is a fabulous program to encourage families to get their children’s eyes checked and if they need eyeglasses then if they are aged 4-10 they can get a free pair of eyeglasses up to $49 value! There are lots of cute kids styles in this price range so it’s definitely worth checking out!

Kids see free daughter

The opticians and staff the Canadian Superstore that we always shop at are extremely helpful. I have to admit I’m surprised we hadn’t stopped by here before, now that I know that they offer such great programs and excellent customer service we’ll be going back again. Our optician Jaspreet explained how the Kids See Free program worked and that it’s available until the end of the year (2015).

Here is our optician Jaspreet helping my daughter to select eyeglasses that she likes, fit her and are comfortable for her.

IMG_4234

One thing that Jaspreet mentioned that stuck with me is she said a lot of parents and children don’t realize that they need eyeglasses. That’s why it’s so important to get our children’s eyes checked every year. I know with my own daughter we didn’t realize she needed eyeglasses until she had her yearly eye exam. Even then her eyesight was still good but our optometrist said that she was on the borderline and it was up to my daughter to see if she needed to use the eyeglasses. Fortunately we did get her eyeglasses as the year went by she found she needed them more and more. Now she puts her eyeglasses on all the time when she’s in class.

IMG_4238

They can do the entire fitting, eye exams (by appointment) with the optometrist and have everything you and/or your child need for your eyeglasses. As mentioned kids 4-10 years of age can get a free pair of eyeglasses (up to a $49 value) and there are quite a few to select from in this price range. However, if there’s a pair that they just love and is a bit more you can still get them and just pay the difference! Anti-scratch and anti-glare options are an extra cost just as they are at any optical store.

IMG_4217

I personally am thrilled that the Real Canadian Superstore is offering the Kids See Free program. It encourages parents and family to get children’s eyes checked and they can get a free pair of eyeglasses. After all we all know that children learn visually and if they can’t see properly that can and will affect their learning. As a mom of a visual learner I know how important it is to take care of our eyes and our children’s eyes. I thank the Real Canadian Superstore for such a fabulous program.

My daughter also thanks them for having some cool frames for her to select from. She loves her new eyeglasses that she’s wearing below 🙂

New glasses

Do you get your eyes checked and/or your children’s every year? Tell us about it we’d love to hear from you.

Yes, my kids get theirs checked. My son needed new lenses every 6 months for years due to how often his vision changed. The optometrist thinks he is overly sensitive to those changes as sometimes it is so slight of a change most people would not notice. I think this is a great program for those who need it!

That’s pretty good. Eyeglasses can be expensive. It’s important to have your vision checked yearly. I walked around for a year using a magnifying glass to read before I got myself in to be checked.

This free exam/eyeglass program for disadvantaged kids is, as I have already said, absolutely wonderful. And I mean that sincerely.

This is an awesome program. Hopefully it will spur more places to do the same. Kids can be shy about not being able to see because they are afraid if they get glasses their friends will tease them. But if they feel like they are special because someone gave them perfect eye sight for free….I think they will feel more comfortable with the change.

Upon reading this I personally made it an objective to see if they might be able to help those in my family! Though I am sending my utmost and highest appreciation to that of Loblaw’s for setting up their Kids See Free program. It will encourage more then ever the parents and family to get children’s eyes checked early / often and they can get a free pair of eyeglasses – what a bonus!! After all I might be a kinesthetic learner; I know that learning with the eyes can lead to children using their imagination and if they can’t see properly that can and will affect their aim to use the learning in the future. As a single parent my mother tried her best to give that of what she could to all the children without getting a dime of child support!

This is a wonderful program… there are so many kids who’s parents cannot afford to get their children eye exams, much less glasses. And that number of disavantaged children has grown exponentially over the last 7 years.
