Family Friendly Pest Control

We all hate pests and wage war on them. But as with all wars, the one against cockroaches, ants and flies can easily spin out of control and lead to collateral damage. Keep your family safe with tips for non-toxic, natural and safe pest control tips.

Keep cockroaches at bay

It’s probably not why they are called bay leaves but still, their scent will keep cockroaches at bay while keeping your family safe. Visit the spice section of your local market and buy some bay leaves, place them in small bags and leave in places visited by cockroaches – the scent will keep them away.

Spray them

You might be wary of using commercial, chemical anti pest sprays but there is a natural, home made solution you can use instead. Mix some hot sauce or chopped chillies with water, pour the mixture into a vaporizer and set out on a battle against roaches. Remember to wear a mask while you’re at it unless you consider yourself a chilli head.

Keep it clean

If keeping things clean is in your nature than you just found the best way to keep your house pest free while considering your family’s health. If not...it’s still the best way. Clean up, don’t leave piles of dirty dishes in the sink, sweep the floors once a day, clean the spills right away and you’ll make your house much less attractive to pests and much more family friendly.

Trap the fruit flies

These tiny pests can be one of the most annoying and hard to get rid of pests. Not anymore. All you need is some apple cider vinegar, a glass container and some plastic wrap. Place the vinegar in the container, cover with plastic wrap and poke a few holes in it with a fork. The flies attracted by the scent will never the trap and never go out again.

Go pro

Natural and non-toxic is all nice but sometimes radical solutions are necessary. Give pest control professionals a call, Trusted Pest Management comes to mind, and let the expert do the dirty work. They know how to do it right without jeopardizing your family’s health.

Long term effect of using chemical anti pest solutions have not been tested so for now, sticking to natural ways might be the wise choice, and no less effective.
