Powered by Mom is ready to fight cold and flu season with #TargetPharmacy #TargetREDCard
No one likes to get sick, least of all me so I’m doing what I can to get through cold and flu season this year. My first step was to visit a Target Pharmacy where I talked to a pharmacist and asked how I could best prepare myself to fight the flu season. They gave me some very helpful tips which I followed up on and am now getting prepared. In fact while I was at Target I picked up a few things and made a cold and flu kit for home, in case any of us does get sick, we’ll have a few things on hand to get us through it.
The pharmacist suggested the tissues, hand sanitizer and mentioned that Tylenol aka acetaminophen helps with fever. I added the chicken noodle soup and found the cold and flu in one over the counter medication. I just like to have things just in case and Target makes it easy with their low prices and I save an additional 5% with my Target REDCard!
The number one thing that is recommended by all health authorities is that we all get a flu shot. It is the best weapon you could have in your arsenal so to speak to fight the flu, in fact to prevent getting the flu. Everyone from age 6 months and up can get a flu shot and those who are considered vulnerable such as young children, the elderly and those with certain medical conditions should be the first ones to get the flu shot.
Starting this week October 20th, 2014 the flu vaccine is available to everyone and it is the best time to get your flu shot. You should get a flu shot between September and October before the flu season begins which is usually around November. Target Pharmacy makes it easy for you to get your flu shot as you can just drop in without an appointment. You can find out more by calling your local Target Pharmacy, they are so helpful and are there to give you the information you need!
