Nothing brings back those fond memories like a photo and when you have this Instax Square SQ10 camera around you can share those memories instantly. Whether you’re at home with family, on vacation or even a conference the Instax Square SQ10 will help you create some of those memories as everyone has fun snapping photos with it and watching them print from the camera.
The Instax Square SQ10 comes in white or black and as you can see I received the black one.
I admit I was impressed with the features on the Instax Square SQ10 camera. This is not anything like those old cameras we might think of when we think of “instant photos”. First off this baby has options and features, oh yeah. You can have it either print the photos automatically after the picture is taken or have it on manual so you can see it on the LCD screen first and decide if you want to print it or not. Wait what did I just say LCD monitor. Oh yeah I sure did! With the cool TFT color LCD monitor on the Instax Square SQ10 Camera you can edit and process images to create just the look you want. You can also have it on a split display which allows you to view images and print them as displayed on the screen.
While you’re setting up your shot on the TFT color LCD monitor you can play around with the filters! Oh how I love the filers, it’s one of my favourite features because it’s just so much fun. So of course I had to show these to you in action so check out our less than minute video below showing off these cool filters on the Instax Square
Now was that fun or what? There are of course more filters than what I just showed, you can do vignettes and you can even adjust the brightness. You can also apply the filters before or after taking the photo. Yes I know I didn’t show you the photo because we’re going to share a bunch of those below. Speaking of photos have I mentioned that you can save your photos to the internal memory or storage media so that you can view them whenever you want, then print your favorites?
In case you haven’t caught on yet this is creativity squared people. Square photos have a retro look and the1:1 aspect adds sophistication to every photo, no matter what the composition. Square photos make your photo creations even bigger than before. You’re getting the best of retro and modern though with this hybrid camera. You get control and composition of a digital camera, with all the fun of a real photo printed into your hands instantly!
Here’s more photos that I took on the Instax Square!
In addition to the filers there are some other fun shooting modes such as:
- Double Exposure – superimpose 2 diffferent images in one frame for something a little more artistic
- Bulb Exposure – This one is for long exposure times. The shutter will stay open for up to 10 seconds which makes it perfect for night time use to capture the motion of light.
- Built-in macro for some of my favourite shots like a close up shot of flowers. You can take a close up shot without an attachment at a distance of 10 cm.
- Thumbnail Print – You can do four or 9 images on one photo for a mini-collage
Let’s not forget that you can save your photos to the internal memory or storage media so you can go back and look and print whenever you want. The last 50 printed photos are also saved to the print history so they can be re-printed anytime.
I’m addicted to the partial colour filters where you can select a colour and only that colour will show up in the photos like the one on the monitor below where just the “red” is showing up and the rest is black and white.
Now the reason that the rose on the monitor is not showing all red is because the camera pick up the fraying/darkening of the roses as they start to wilt. I just love this effect though.
Now I know I’ve been going on and on about the Instax Square and I don’t want to forget the Instax Share SP-3 Printer because this baby is perfect complement to the Fujiflim Instax Square SQ10 camera.
With this fabulous printer you can connect to your smartphone and print your photos from there instantly. Hello can you say teenager heaven, because how often do you see young people and okay people of all ages taking selfies now?! Well now they can print their favourite selfies whether it’s a single shot or a group selfie. How fun would that be at parties, conferences, family gatherings and more?!
People can login into their social media accounts as well and print their favourite photos from there as well via their smartphone and the Instax SP-3 printer. It has a new laser exposure system achieves a faster printing time of 13 seconds from print data transfer to print output.
Download the free INSTAX SHARE app from the Apple Store or Google Play to have access to the new user interface and functions which includes adding text, doing a collage, applying filters and more.
