Powered by Mom Shares some Fun and Delicious Kids Snacks and Treats
If you have a chuld who is a picky eater like I do then some times you have to be creative when it comes to making snacks for them. Even if you don’t have a picky eater kids just like us like a bit of variety in their food and they really like it when it’s more fun and of course tasty too. We’ve collected a few of our favorite fun and delicious kids snacks and treats that we want to share with you! Better yet most of them are easy and quick to put together!
We always have our basic snacks in our house that I know my daughter likes such as fruit such as bananas and applies, cucumbers, mini carrots, crackers and a few other things. Sometimes though we have to get creative if she’s getting bored of the same old thing but that doesn’t mean she always wants to try something new so I try to make some basic favorites into something fun.
Most kids love bananas and my daughter is no exception so we for us coming up with some fun snack and treat ideas for bananas was a great place to start. We like to keep it easy and quick when we can for those days we’re in a rush. The banana toppers we do are simple and have so many possibilities to them. You can add a bit of peanut butter, nuts, marshmallows, put a few sprinkles on, add some other fruit to it. The ideas are endless. These banana toppers are great as an after school snack and if they have friends over. You can let them put their own toppings on them if you want!
Our other fun banana treat is banana sushi! For this one you just need some Motts fruit rolls, bananas and if you want Mott’s fruit centers.
- Cut the bananas to the length of the fruit roll or whatever size you want.
- slowly unrolll the fruit roll but leave the plastic on one side
- Once unrolled put the banana piece on the fruit roll but up to one edge.
- Start rolling until the banana is covered
- You can sprinkle coconut flakes on it, add fruit on top or leave it “plain”
- We sometimes add a Mott’s Fruit center into one for more decoration
You can also do a “nigiri” looking one with a granola bar or rice krispy square as the base, add fruit on top or marshmallows and tie with a string of fruit roll up. Another idea which we’ve done but is not pictures is doing a rice krispies/marshmallow mix and rolling it in the fruit roll up for a sushi roll.
It’s all fun and what a treat! Whether packing school lunches in the morning or providing snacks for after-school activities, new Mott’s Fruity Rolls and Mott’s Fruity Centers are easy wins for mom. These new snacks fun for kids and made with the colors and flavors from natural sources that moms will also love.
Other favorites in our house are:
Chocolate Chip Cookies with Coconut Sugar – RECIPE HERE. Chocolate chip cookies are a staple treat, who doesn’t love chocolate chip cookies?! They’re great as a treat in school lunches, after school, when friends are over and well almost anytime!
Bite size baking soda biscuits with cheese and herbs. These are great in school lunches, as after school snacks, really any time of the day. You can also have them without herbs or cheese and add raisins or blueberries they’re all good!
Avocado mixed with tuna for a fun twist. It’s kind of Mexican but not and gives kids a chance to try tuna and avocado. If your child is adventurous you can top it with a mild salsa. It’s quite tasty!
We also love gluten-free chocolate chip cupcakes. They are so good they don’t even need icing! You can use a basic cupcake recipe and substitute the flour with a gluten free flour or buy a pre-mixed gluten-free chocolate cake mix and just add your own chocolate chips.
Those are some of our favorite fun and delicious kids snacks and treats. What are some of yours?
