Powered by Mom gives you the 411 on Garden of Life Protein Powders
Working with Garden of Life has been a wonderful experience for myself and my family. Being able to work with them and review their line of protein powders has been just what we needed to further our fitness and health goals. Learning about the different uses for each product as well as the plethora of awesome, organic, healthy ingredients was also a very helpful part of the whole process and I loved that there wasn't one single filler ingredient in the entire line that I reviewed. How many other products or companies can genuinely say that their products are 100% goodness and not filler junk?
At Garden of Life, not only do they fully commit themselves and their work to helping people achieve their health goals with the best, Organic products but they're also one of the few who have attained dual certificates proving that their products are USDA Certified Organic AND Non-GMO verified. Not only have they gone above and beyond to bring their customers the very best, unaltered, organic products but Garden of Life also makes it their mission to make sure that their products have only the highest quality ingredients and that each one goes through a rigorous testing process to make sure that the products are top quality.
One thing I tried to keep in mind while trying each of the products was whether or not they all shared similar tastes or if they were each unique in their own ways. A lot of protein powders I've tasted over the course of the last few years tasted so awful and just like the one before it that I hadn't much hope for these but was pleasantly surprised when they each ended up tasking different than the others.
As a quick refresher for my readers, I was sent the following products from Garden of Life to review:
Organic Plant Protein Smooth Vanilla Protein Powder: This fantastic plant based protein powder is 100% certified Organic and GMO -free. It is uniquely formulated to have superior texture and taste and is ideal for anyone looking for an ideal source of clean protein. I love that it has organic flax seed, cranberry, chia seeds, baobab and so much more. In my opinion this protein powder is the smoothest especially when mixed in blender bottle, it doesn't require a blender, just shake it up and go. You can read my full review HERE.
OPP comes in these three yummy natural flavors
RAW Fit Vanilla Protein Powder: Vegan, Organic and GMO-free, this plant based protein powder is a great way to maintain good blood sugar levels and has a mild, sweet flavor that mixes well with your favorite food or beverage. This is the one I take when I want to concentrate on some minor weight loss, cleansing and getting rid of bloat, it helps me a lot with that! I really helps to maintain my blood sugar which does help with weight loss. I have also found that it does cut down on my cravings too so when I'm getting cravings a little too often I switch to my RAW Fit!
I love that it has organic cinnamon, sprouted grains and green coffee bean extract. Now I do find it does have that grain taste just a bit and while I can mix it in a blender bottle I like it even more when I've used a blender for it.
RAW Protein Powder Vanilla: Certified organic, RAW, vegan protein powder. Featuring 13 RAW and organic sprouts, RAW Protein is an excellent source of complete protein, providing 17 grams, or 33% of the Daily Value, plus all essential amino acids. RAW Protein contains Vitamin Code® fat-soluble vitamins and supports digestive health and function with live protein-digesting enzymes and powerful probiotics†. Adds more protein to your meals, alternative to soy and animal protein powders. I take the RAW protein powder when I've not been consuming as much protein, especially those long work days that don't always result in good meal planning. I keep some in my desk at work and always at home too. Again it can be used in a blender bottle and I put it on my food like salads and in my yogurt. It is easy to digest, my stomach is never bothered by it or any of the Garden of Life protein powders.
Taste wise it's not sweet, it tastes like well raw grains and veggies but not a strong taste, I like it most in smoothies and in my yogurt.
Here's what's the same about all of these powders:
- If you look at our first picture you'll see powders look almost the same, that's because none of them have had added coloring, fillers etc.. After I started consuming Garden of Life protein powders it made me think of the ones I got that were like white powders seriously white, what were they bleached or what? Garden of Life's protein powders "color" just comes from the natural ingredients and you can tell by each one that they have not been colored in any way.
- Even the Organic Plant Protein Chocolate flavor I've tried is only slightly darker and it's because of the organic cacao not from any fake coloring.
- They all taste natural, no chemical tastes because there are no chemicals of any kind, no fake sweeteners, it's just all goodness.
- They can all be mixed in a blender bottle, some are more smooth than others though (see above for the one I say is the smoothest)
- They all have organic ingredients, non-GMO verified and packed with goodness
You really can't go wrong with any of their protein powders you just have to go with what suits you and your lifestyle or if you're like me, what suits my mood taht week and/or my goals.

Great review! I've been using hemp protein in smoothies but plan on trying some of GOL's protein powders. I usually only add powder to smoothies but I like that some of them can easily be added to other things! I don't eat meat/milk so RAW protein looks like a good option for me!
I would probably try cooking with these. I've never tried protein powders before, I'd be willing to give it a try. Thanks for the information.
These powders sound good for those of us that don't have healthy eating habits. I really should try some.
I need to give this a try. I have been thinking about trying some protein drinks. I will check this out. Thank you for sharing
I really enjoyed this post as I am always looking for new protein powders. I have tried so many and still have not found one I love, so I will be trying these for sure!
Lots of useful info to help us get acquainted with the product. I would love to try the coffee flavor.
I have been really interested in trying the plant protein. I use whey isolate but I am not overly fond of it.
Wow, you can make so much with this! This looks like a great product!
I've never tried these, but I have used Garden of LIfe products before and I've been so pleased with them! Their quality is top notch! I definitely want to try these. I'm sure I'll be satisfied.
I would love to try the vanilla flavor.
This sounds better than what I have been using and after WLS I need a very good protein power, thanks for the reveiw.
This sounds like just what I was looking for today. I am tired and think I am not getting enough protein. i looked up where I can get it in my town.... found it. I will be getting some this weekend.
Garden of Life does make wonderful products. My daughter and I are always looking for new Plant Proteins so it is super to read about the different brands.
I like anything organic and natural. These plant proteins are better than most.
I haven't tried any of these powders. What I like is that if you don't like the texture you don't have to drink it. You can sprinkle it over food or cool with it too.
I've sampled these and they are great! I've been making smoothies and would like to add protein powder!!!
I love that their protein powders have no fillers and are organic!
I've never used powders so this was helpful!
