It’s the hap-hap-happiest time of the year, with lots of tasty treats and holiday parties. But sweets don’t have to bust the belt this time of year. As you start planning holiday get-togethers, make sure you keep your health on track with the simple addition of, you guessed it…Salba Chia seeds!

Did you know you can substitute Chia Seeds for eggs in your cookie recipes?? For cookies: You may use 1 tablespoon of Chia seeds mixed ¼ cup of water. Use the ground Chia Seeds and let them gel in the water for about 5 to 10 minutes.

I’m Michelle aka Powered by Mom. I’m married with one daughter, my hubby was my high school sweetheart, our two dogs Nyx and Cleo and our cat Oliver. As you can see we’re a family of animal lovers. We love to travel when we can, try different food and activities all over the world and enjoy being together.     I don’t have a cookie recipes… but i love home made chocolate barks. just gramcracker crust, pour melted chocolate over it, then sprinkle with chopped peppermint hershey kisses

    My favorite cookie is White Choc. Macadamia mix from Betty Crocker. I haven’t tried Chia, but it should healthier and probably good for me.

    I had no idea you could sub chia for eggs! That’s great news b/c my daughter is allergic to egg whites.

    My fav cookie to make is sugar cookies. The kids love them and so do the adults 🙂

    Soory haven’t tried chia seeds with cookies yet even though chocolate chip with chia sounds good. I have, however, tried chia seeds with fruit smoothie and it tasted pretty decent.

    My fave cookie recipe is one box of spice cake mix, one can of pumpkin (small) and 1/2 bag of mini choc chips. AWESOME pumpkin cookies!!!! Bake at 350 until they spring back when touched.

    I love chocolate chip cookies, but I don’t have a recipe I follow –yet! I am trying to cut out GMOs and gluten from our diets which means I will be doing more baking and food prep. I do use chia seeds in my smoothies and green juices.

    Choc. chip cookies that are on the package of a bag a chips from years ago. I’ve tried other but they are still the family favorite. Been wanting to try seeds.

    We make a drink with water mixing in chia seeds and fresh lemon and lime juice and a little honey, it gels slightly and tastes kind of like kiwi 🙂

    2 Ingredient Banana cookies

    2 large old bananas
    1 cup of oats

    Mix-ins
    -chocolate chips
    -crushed walnut pieces
    -cinnamon
    -raisins

    My favorite cookie is Double Chocolate Mint with almond cookies

    3/4 cup butter, softened or sub with 1 cup of apple sauce
    1/2 cup white sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 teaspoon mint extract
    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1 cup chocolate chips
    1 cup of chopped almonds

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
    Beat butter pr apple sauce, white sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until fluffy. Stir egg, vanilla extract, and mint into the mixture until thoroughly combined. Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt into wet ingredients to make a smooth dough. Gently fold chocolate chips and almonds into the dough. Drop by spoonfuls onto baking sheets.
    Bake in the preheated oven until cookies are set, 10 to 12 minutes

    We love any type of cookie… chocolate chip, peanut butter, snickerdoodle… We’ve been working on healthier routines so cookies are only made on occasion these days.

Happy #Easter everyone. Hubby & I went camping and Happy #Easter everyone. Hubby & I went camping and just got back. We took both of our dogs with us and we think we broke them 😆 #CleoTheDog & #NyxTheDog were both soooo tired by around 8:30pm each night that they would go to our trailer door & look at ys waiting to be let in 😁 while we continued to enjoy our campfire 🔥It was great to unplug there is no cell service let alone internet where we go so we enjoyed the beautiful scenery.
