Get festive with Chia seeds!
It’s the hap-hap-happiest time of the year, with lots of tasty treats and holiday parties. But sweets don’t have to bust the belt this time of year. As you start planning holiday get-togethers, make sure you keep your health on track with the simple addition of, you guessed it…Salba Chia seeds!
Did you know you can substitute Chia Seeds for eggs in your cookie recipes?? For cookies: You may use 1 tablespoon of Chia seeds mixed ¼ cup of water. Use the ground Chia Seeds and let them gel in the water for about 5 to 10 minutes.

I had no idea you could sub chia for eggs! That’s great news b/c my daughter is allergic to egg whites.
My fav cookie to make is sugar cookies. The kids love them and so do the adults 🙂

Soory haven’t tried chia seeds with cookies yet even though chocolate chip with chia sounds good. I have, however, tried chia seeds with fruit smoothie and it tasted pretty decent.

My fave cookie recipe is one box of spice cake mix, one can of pumpkin (small) and 1/2 bag of mini choc chips. AWESOME pumpkin cookies!!!! Bake at 350 until they spring back when touched.

My favorite cookie is Double Chocolate Mint with almond cookies
3/4 cup butter, softened or sub with 1 cup of apple sauce
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon mint extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup of chopped almonds
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Beat butter pr apple sauce, white sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl until fluffy. Stir egg, vanilla extract, and mint into the mixture until thoroughly combined. Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt into wet ingredients to make a smooth dough. Gently fold chocolate chips and almonds into the dough. Drop by spoonfuls onto baking sheets.
Bake in the preheated oven until cookies are set, 10 to 12 minutes
