Empowering People Out of Poverty
The whole goal World Vision has is to empower people out of poverty. This means the entire Grace Collection is handmade by artisans in India. They are paid for their work and goods through certified fair-trade practices that will help get them out of poverty. So, I love that not only am I getting a beautifully made scarf, bracelet, and necklace that I love, but I’m also helping to give back to those in need.
The Most Stylish Gift
I don’t often wear scarfs except for practical reasons in the winter. I own a ton for wrapping up babies for portrait photography though LOL. This scarf is so soft and silky smooth, I love it. I might not have the right face shape to pull it off nicely, but I really enjoy wearing it. I also get a ton of compliments on it. The teal color is a favorite of mine so it does go with a lot of my own outfits as well.
The scarf pairs perfectly with the bracelet and necklace. The light brown leather of the strap plays off the gold tone in the jewelry. The light teal in the bracelet plays off the darker teal in the scarf. The bracelet is stretchy so it can fit over anyone’s wrist. The necklace is long, which I normally don’t wear, but I love this necklace.
Symbolic is So Many Ways
Patricia Heaton designed this collection with her sponsored child, Gracious, in mind. She said, “I designed the Grace Collection as a wearable reminder that we are all bound together, like the branches of a tree; the roots flourishing when we care for each other. The necklace, charm bracelet and scarf… signify how one act of generosity can light up an entire community.” As a person of many faiths, generally, all being of kindness and the golden rule, I love what these designs signify.
A Stylish Gift that Gives Back
There are times in my life when I have had to accept the generosity of others, and the feeling of love is so palpable. That sensation of genuine caring. It is so special. So, whenever I get the chance, I do what I can to also give back. Buying gifts through World Vision helps to accomplish this. So think of others this season, no matter the holiday they celebrate, and give back if you can. It means so much.
